you are awesome, you speak the truth, I have been to Tibet, lived with Tibetans, studied all aspects of Tibetan culture in depth, have spent time with the Dalai Lama, etc. etc.
When I was in Tibet, in the capital city of Lhasa, military with automatic weapons were everywhere, the entire area was under strict martial law, anything related to Tibet was confiscated at the border, if you did manage to sneak a picture of the Dalai Lama into tibet it had to be given to the Tibetan in secret, etc
Thanks for speaking the truth!!!
Martial law? And they were issuing tourist visas to 15 year old kids?

Leontard saw a very different Tibet in bars in Portland or other parts of Oregon.

After drinking a few glasses, the taxi driver took him to an inner city ghetto which looked like Dharamsala.

To Leontard it is the same as Tibet.

He rescinded autonomy in his last dialogue and just said he wants to return to live in the Potala which is silly as the Gaden Tripa ( the one who sits on the leadership trhrone of the Gelukpas since it's inception ), not the Dalai lama who holds a title presented by the Chinese imperial historical ruler .

Leonard claimed to have visited Tibet while it was under martial law and yet he was just a child at the time. It seems suprising that he was granted a visa if it was under 'martial law' at the time. It also brings into question as to his perspective as he would have only been a child. The other issue is that as a tourist he would almost certainly been escorted by tourist guides not left to mingle and exchange confidences about 'life under communism'. So my guess is that he has a memory shaped, not by his experiences but by his prejudices.

Needless to say, Leonard has not responded.

Your post says a lot about you as well.

Here is a list of hotels in Tibet. Each has a review section. Feel free to read them and point out the reviews writen wu mao and the ones that mention martial law. Also it might be helpful if you tell us the ones that are not taking reservations at this time. 5 million visiters to Tibet last year. You would think one or two of them just might have noticed. Perhaps they were all wu mao too!

May be people in some European countries that really believe in and practice multiculturalism can object to assimilation of Tibet; Americans can’t. Here in America, as progressive remedy to our racist past, we promote assimilation of the Hawaiians and blacks coercively.

The US Senate rejected the Akaka Bill of 2000 that could have granted cultural autonomy to the Hawaiians. The US Senate cited the American “tradition of assimilation”. Assimilation: good and progressive stuff. Autonomy is just a form of segregation. The USA does not have an iota of reason to urge that the Chinese take steps to preserve the linguistic tradition of the Tibetans.

Coercive busing of kids to integrated school is a form of cultural dilution by force. If one wants to use the term cultural genocide, then busing was pretty much cultural genocide. It forced a black kid to sit next to a white kid 40 hours a week. In Grant county Virginia, just prior to coercive busing of children, 85% of black parents chose to send their kids to segregated black schools. The US Supreme Court ruled that assimilation should prevail over freedom of association, so busing started.

Two slogans for busing were “separate is inherently unequal” and “separation instills a feeling of inferiority on black children”. Couldn’t whites have paid into segregated schools to make them equal? Tibetan autonomy with Chinese economic benefits seems to be “separate but inherently equal” with inherent subsidy. Wouldn’t separation instill a feeling of inferiority on Tibetan children?

Moreover, multiculturalism is a misguided concept. I saw pitiful racism against black players in the soccer World Cup in 2006. We have assimilation and a bi-racial “black” President here in the USA.

Socially, the assimilation of the Slavic people, who were once discriminated against, is more comparable to the Tibetan situation. In the way that a Natasha Nikolaevna Zacharenko wanted to and actually became Natalie Wood, a Lobsang Gyatso may want to and actually become a Hu Jiabao. For quite some time in the USA, a white face is the ticket; Anglo-Saxon is a choice. I think this, the Natalie Wood phenomenon, is the way Tibetan cultural identity is going to come to an end eventually; this is just very good and propitious.

To start with, look at the 'troop' of young male monks in purple robe.

Why do the Lamas need so many young men under their control? What do they do? Who do they serve? Do they have a take-home pay to help their families?

To start with this observation, you will see where are the slaves.

It is good that the Dalai Lama is losing hope. It is time for him to face reality.

Lamaism is coming to an end after less than 400 years of its existence.

For almost 400 years, Lamaism has kept the Tibetans in the dark.

It is time for the Tibetans to see the world.

For now the CCP has to do what they need to do in order to keep the DL from returning and continue to keep Tibetans in the dark.

Agree.

Some Dalai Lama propagandists keep saying that the CCP is afraid of Dalai Lama. It is nonsense. It is something based on nothing but lies. Beijing does not have to do anything but just wait till Dalai Lama's death. It is that simple.

It is as absurd as saying the Free Tibet guys in Dharamsala (or called govt-in-exile) represent all Tibetans. The media (of the west) say they represent Tibet.

They ridiculously say even though the freed slaves and serfs were treated inhumanely by their overlords, these poor folks of old Tibet are still happen with them today.

If the slaves and serfs were happy in 1959, why did they rise up against their overlords then with the help of the PLA?

If they support Dalai Lama and the overlords, why did DL & the old aristocracy receive no help from the freed slaves and serfs (who were the majority in old Tibet)?

When Dalai Lama, and the aristocracy revolted with the support of the CIA against the Chinese central gov't in 1959, the rebels had only 8,000 men and lost the war because of a lack of support from the people.

When the govt-in-exile in Dharamsala and the media of the west say the former represent all Tibet people and their rights, it is equivalent to saying they get the support of their enemies.

Absurd! Is it clear who are the liars here?
