"The work is a series of 12 massive, 800 lb. bronze heads depicting the animals of the Chinese Zodiac."

Hmm, like Chinese Zodiac animals cast in bronze haven't been done before. The true test will be if Westerners thieve them and they end up selling for millions of dollars each in somewhere like Sotherby's.

The guy will now live the life of luxury. See how this all works, he got in the news and now milked it for all its worth and will end up sleeping with his wealth.

In the end, the guy is still a tax cheat.

Ai Weiwei has paid more taxes into the China economy than 1000 poor citizens, cheat or not.

If the gov is one saying he cheated, I put that in the category of, "yeah, whatever" anyway.

you sound like a Republican American...

even though I make 5 million dollars

I shouldnt have to pay more than $3,000 dollars in taxes like a poor person pays...

once again your views show you are not a humanitarian...

why dont you try arguing the facts Bill

sounds like CCPGenocide is implying that the rich should not have to pay their fair share of taxes...

just because they pay more than 1000 of the lowest income earners...

thats sounding very capitalistic to me...

and exactly what a Conservative American would say...

not a liberal thinking humanitarian

All I know is if your going to be a controversial figure... in China... you better dot your i and cross your t

I dont think for a second if China wanted to disappear people they could not do it if they wanted too..

bottom line I dont hear the guy complain too much

most likely he was cheating on his taxes like the next guy... but then like I said before he is a controversial figure in China

and probably has a few enemies...

like I said before bottomline looks like China is going after its richer folks making them pay taxes if not more... and giving tax breaks or no tax to its poor

I see nothing wrong with that...

I think perhaps the term 'poseur' sums him up.

But I have seen his work and I was not impressed.

I've never seen his works, but I have heard the same thing from others.

In the west, the politically correct crowd will buy his stuff up at high prices. I have a feeling, in the future, they will say "Weiwei who?" (does it sound like wee-wee, like a child says when they want to use the WC - for people who have not been to china, WC is the most common western name associated with a restroom, which in the old days WC meant, Water Closet in the west)

Daily Horoscope for June 2

Libra

It's one of those difficult days when anything can and will happen. Someone you were relying on might let you down, plans could be changed at the eleventh hour or a machine could go on the blink. To make matters worse, your energy levels are very erratic, so you feel full of beans one minute and ready to go to sleep the next. Don't make the situation worse by eating foods that give you a high followed by a slump.
