Hmm, like Chinese Zodiac animals cast in bronze haven't been done before. The true test will be if Westerners thieve them and they end up selling for millions of dollars each in somewhere like Sotherby's.

The guy will now live the life of luxury. See how this all works, he got in the news and now milked it for all its worth and will end up sleeping with his wealth.

In the end, the guy is still a tax cheat.

Ai Weiwei has paid more taxes into the China economy than 1000 poor citizens, cheat or not.

If the gov is one saying he cheated, I put that in the category of, "yeah, whatever" anyway.

I dont think for a second if China wanted to disappear people they could not do it if they wanted too..

bottom line I dont hear the guy complain too much

most likely he was cheating on his taxes like the next guy... but then like I said before he is a controversial figure in China

and probably has a few enemies...

like I said before bottomline looks like China is going after its richer folks making them pay taxes if not more... and giving tax breaks or no tax to its poor

I've never seen his works, but I have heard the same thing from others.

In the west, the politically correct crowd will buy his stuff up at high prices. I have a feeling, in the future, they will say "Weiwei who?"
