Suspect In Cleveland Killings Was Arrested Last Year | WBNS-10T...

Full story: 10TV WBNS

A woman told authorities in December that a man now accused of killing 11 women had beaten her and tried to rape her, and police and prosecutors are giving conflicting explanations for why a case was abandoned that could have led them months earlier to the bodies scattered around the suspect's stench-filled house.

Yeah, this stuff is happening here in Columbus too. It is pretty sad when a PO tells you a Tier III sex offender isn't going to be arrested for not reporting a change of address because of "funding cuts". I live in a decent neighborhood where there is a block of apartments with a large number of sex offenders. Guess where the school system puts the bus stop?

Granted, there are a few people who made a stupid choice in their youth (like the 18 year old high school student who hooks up with a freshman) but for the most part, it seems these people can't be rehabbed.

Well this Sowell dude was all up to date, and they did a property search about 5 weeks before this discovery, a new twist to this story is that 2 cousins were buried together and another 2 cousins were buried together - there has to be some family members who know where these girls were murdered and how they ended up at Sowell's place, this does not seem random to me. The police are looking in the yard next door, I think they need to look at a few more places in this area, they did check an abandon school building and found nothing there, but there are a lot of empty houses here and several have been broken open where the creepy looking guys hide inside the doorway but you see the faces as you walk past.

You have to wonder what made this nut snap. He was squared away at one point in his life. The Marine Corps took care of that.

This entire story, as it unfolds, is quite complex. I was not there and certainly do not know what may or may not have transpired.
From the information gathered up to this point it appears Mr. Sowell may well have been involved in at least some of the murders. The description of the neighborhood, according to some eyewitnesses, is that of some science fiction horror. No regard for basic human compassion and distrust of any outsiders - to include police.
With the common events of people missing and no reports made, drug dealing rampant and criminals coming and going with immunity who would know or even recognize IF crimes were conducted by Mr. Sowell or neighbors using his property as a repository for bodies.
The whole ordeal is unmistakenly sad. That many deaths within one neighborhood is shocking. For the relatives and loved ones who have been searching for family only to find this as an answer is gruesome.

And I wonder, still I wonder just why "Mr Noose" is still hanging around, why "Old Sparky" is still sitting around, and why Smith&Wesson are still laying around knowing that if society would just reinstate their comission, the world would probably be a better place.I say just do this slimebag in and call it a day.

If I don't laugh I will surely cry about this story. This idiot needs to just leave this Earth and FAST. Somebody do something!

And I have said it before...I am so tired of obvious people being referred to as "suspects". It should be "guilty until proven innocent". We are so backwards in this country.

Dead bodies laying around the house, inside and outside, and he is "still a suspect". Geeez.

it's a shame that still goes on in our society, But the Adam Walsh law has put just about all sex offenders a tier 3 sex-offender which put's a big case load on the police and the courts too sort through and too check up on a regulate bases I known a few will say that's it's not a excuse but the federal Gov mandated it so Ohio had to except the new Adam Walsh law or lose gov funding too the justice department

What I don't understand is if the police did a search could they not smell the decomposing bodies?? I saw another time the police were out there. I just don't get it.

My opinions are these. These are not to be discussed for the purpose of taking away from the news topic. As always, I welcome your opinions as well.

1) Person obviously has history of both abuse and mental issues. I feel he should have been better monitored.

2) We must understand that police, fire, prosecutor offices all throughout the world are suffering from inadequate funds. It's easy to point the blame but I honestly have a hard time believing an officer(s) just decided it was too much effort to follow this case up. I tend to believe that officer(s) were likely innondated with other cases. Right or wrong, it's often not intended. However, financials do dictate action. Personally (as stated in #1 above) I feel this should have been a priority case.

3) Police are our support for crime and wrong-doing. Granted some bad things have happened over the years. But, officers are likely just like you and I,... in that when we do something over and over and over at our job, it becomes second hand. We tend to care less because it's merely a process and us not remembering sometimes our work actions affect other people or families. Police are in the public eye 24-7-365. Aside from their problems that most of us toil with personally ourselves, they are no different.

4) I am certain reprimands are in order. However, I am am not privy to the important facts and details. Please yield to the investigation. Yes, the investigation is often the police investigating itself. However, some agencies ask the State Highway Patrol (OSP).

5) To my understanding the suspect is remaining silent. Let me remind us all that remaining silent is an American right. It does NOT always mean someone is guilty. In cases this elaborate, he has made the best legal decision for himself. Not talking with investigators, media or similar.

6) Investigations are essential to collecting not only evidence but motive. Remember the days of simple hanging a person? They were caught cheating in poker and they took them right out and hung them. Well, we all know that isn't the best route and makes no human sense. This case may involve more than one person. Or,... we may learn that a friend(s) or family may have known about one or more suspect killings he was in and they basically harbored him by not notifying the police.

7) Expediting the death sentence after judicial sentencing is not always the best route. If you were a family member or friend of one of those killed,... they may want to know motive. Or details of their last day(s), etc. People tabulate things differently. They process just as much from few details as they do with many details. Unfortunately, we all do this as human beings.

Most Respectfully,
Marysville

Daily Horoscope for December 27

Capricorn

You'll have a fabulous time if you're longing to see what's on offer in the sales, especially if you want to buy yourself some new clothes or cosmetics. However, you won't pay much attention to how much you're spending, and may even deliberately avoid thinking about it. Do yourself a favor and don't go overboard if you can't afford it.
