To the Sheriff of Frnklin County, the entire Central Dispatch Police.(Royalton, Zeigler, Christopher, Sesser)
There is nothing more comical that a dummy trying to prove his intelligence, and that's exactly what it sounds like every time one of your patrol units calls the dispatch center for a 10:29 on a person. If I were your dispatcher, I would refuse you the service until you learned to speak plain enough to just give me the name of the person in question. If you are after a John Doe, then just say John Doe and don't go into trying to use every letter in the alphabet to spell it out for me. I'm not stupid, so just give me the name. None of the stupid stuff such as, J(John)O(ocean)H(henry)N(none) D(david)O(ocean)E(elmo.) No more of that amateur crap. If I need you to spell the name for me, I will ask that you do so. When you come on the air acting like this it proves that you are by no means a professional in your trade, but a bumbling, stupid idiot who never learned to speak plain. I don't know if any of you are aware of the monitoring of the airwaves by the National Communications for this type of usage of the airwaves or not. But by acting this way and using up extra airtime when not needed, everyone of you are violating the Syncrom Act of 1993, not to mention the act of stupidity. All of you want respect, then learn to speak plain and clean up your act and beging to act like professional Police Officers instead of part time amatuer idiots. |

Thanks, and as a former communications supervisor I know for a fact that there are thousands of people with Police scaners who monitor the Police activities 24/7. What a lot of these dumb assed patrolmen do not realize is that the city officials also monitor their frequency. These policemen's annual pay raise and their annual department budgets are sometimes based on what the city officials and the city taxpayers hear on their police scanner. Some base their sole judgement on the actions of the people in the police uniforms. A patrolman does not realize that the public forms their opinion of the entire city and the police department based on the actions of perhaps one patrol officer. If that officer acts to be an real dickhead and an asshole, then the city will begin to get a reputation of suck because the public and violators will think that the entire city as well as every member of the PD are nothing but dickheads and assholes, and it will be a reputation that will spread to other neighboring towns like wildfire. Some never work toward self improvement because they continue to work at their low intelligence level. While others work hard at self improvement and will most likely move on to bigger departments and better pay. These small departments need to have the ability to watch and evaluate the ones they want to keep on the department. Most of the local departments are in bad need of improvements because a lot of times they do not hire the most qualified for the job, and will instead hire a supid friend of a friend or a relative of a stupid politician. Being a good Police officers requires the intelligence to be taught a very sensitive job in a everchanging enviornment, and usually friends or friends or relatives do not make good policemen. They need to get it all together because the world is increasingly depending on the professionalism of the Police departments.

They spell it out like that so there is no mistake in the spelling of a name. And if it is a simple common spelling name they will say that. Most departments do that. Not just Central.. Not everybody spells their name the same. If they didn't spell it out, they would still be taking up more “airtime” if they didn't get the right person the first time. They would have to try again. And furthermore, I've heard some officers not spell it and dispatch asked them to spell it so ha...

Great thought, but sometimes it's better to sit and keep quiet and let people think you are an idiot that to open your mouth and prove it! Keep in mind that the Dummies are not the ones at the Dispatcher's desk.

I stand corrected on the spelling. Didn't think anyone would notice, but it was pointed out without using the entire alphabet to make the correction. And should the name be Jon Dough...then spell it out just like you learned to do in grade school.

Well then you would have to tell dispatch how it's spelled..which is what they do and are supposed to do. Why are you even complaining about this? They do their job like they're suppose to, yet you don't like the way they do it? Get a life. Oh and by the way- it's n-nora and e- edward ;)

Dispatchers do a wonderful job, it's when the ambulance drivers can't get the directions straight and have trouble finding an address that worries me!
