I just heard that Vera Mills was arrested the other day...(councilwoman) Anyone else heard that? Know any details?

If it happend in Zeigler, the cop probably called someone else in to handle it so there was no conflict of interest. Anyhow, what happend?

It wuz only a conflict cuz the zpd didnt wunt to deal wit it. they either wunt the job or not. as for wut hapend ask round therz lots of versunz. n e way county took care of bidnez no conflictz jus did the job.

to the "sceneit" person who can't spell, talk or type..of course it was a conflict of interest. Shows how much you don't know. The Zeigler cops always do a great job. As for Vera, according to Judici, she was arrested for battery/cause bodily harm. I don't know anymore than that right now.

Well.. to be a fly on the wall VM was arrested and the only reason the zeigler police department didn't do a thing is because they thought she has more power then she actually does. They say money talks but for her is money is the way to bully and to make hard working people like ants she can crush. People are only bullies when they have low self esteem. It's time Zeigler stands up to bullies and put them in their place.. back into their living room where they belong knitting like most of the old people here in town. GO ZEIGLER

The officers on Zeigler PD do not care if a person has money or not or how much. It had to do with the conflict of interest. They did not want to be involved with the arrest because they do work closely with her since she's on the council. Having said that, for what it's worth, they don't even care for her. You are right about the bully part though. She does think that she's better than just because she has money. I know the parties involved & I know what happened & it is pathetic how she treats people. One of those people being a person that rents her building (she didn't know what she was like before she did unfortunately) & has brought new business to the town which we greatly need & welcome. She is a really nice person & just because she may not have as much money as VM, doesn't make her less of a person. Vera treats her & others like crap. Oh & by the way, not all people in Zeigler are old & knit. ;)

It was a conflict of interest and like most cities the police will turn over those type of calls to other agencies so their are no problems, for example if the zeigler police did arrest her then people would say that the ZPD have a vendetta against her because she is on the council, if the police did not arrest her then the people would say that they wouldn't do it because she is connected politically, see the cycle here, but for the record yes the ZPD can arrest city councilman just like any other but it is best to turn it over to avoid the headaches. I hope this clears up some confusion.

This is it... Cool... You are right, well court is on the 2nd so who knows what is going to happen. I hope for the town of Zeigler that it makes things easier on them knowing that no one is above the law. Whether it's community service or dismissal or retirement from city council. Some people in this town will sleep better. They only thing that kills me from what I understand, she is selling the building without fixing the roof or giving it to the city. They don't have the money to fix it either... what a sad day for business any business trying to grow in Zeigler, that some just don't care.

Thanks Truth be Known, I am sure that Vera will get something out of this but in order for her to be removed for the city council she has to be convicted of a felony or have charges of official misconduct filed against her, however the rest of the city officials can censure her for the remainder of her term. I would say that she will remain on the council but will be less likely to pull any stunts knowing that she could end up in jail again. So in closing I would probably say that she will finish out her term with less power and not seek reelection due to the townsfolk now knowing how full of shit that she is.

She pleaded Guilty and she received 12 probation and the person she attacked has an order of protection on her for 12 months (courtesy of franklin, co)..... SO... she gets to stay on the board, and bilk the city out of more funds for her son. Who by the way built a closet and charged them $1800.00. Wonder if now they will rise up and kill the dragon and rescue the townsfolk. Only time will tell... So zeiglerites with pitchforks at hand stand up for whats right. Keep your town growing and keep businesses working.. we all need jobs and our economy needs money back into the city. So we all can live.

Vera Mills is a crazy wack job! She has bought her oldest son out of so much trouble, including her Grandson that is still living by this same son. The other boy of her oldest son died from and overdose and I never saw her shed a tear. She was cleaning out his room 5 minutes after the body was removed. True Story!!! He (the oldest son) had back to back Meth charges one month apart in Franklin and Williamson county and she bought off someone. Both charges were printed in the paper and he got nada, nothing, zilch! Charges were dropped! Maybe some judge got his pockets lined with some of Vera's money! I hope the girl that she attacked sues her in civil court. She needs to see that what goes around comes around. She has been a cold hearted wicked bitch for all the years I have know her!

...not to mention that her son in law is now a ZPD (courtesy of Vera) and he is nothing but a pervert. I have heard some very inappropriate things come out of his mouth and so have many others.

So, just a note to add.. "Well" is right I went over to the Movie Store in Zeigler. That girl is so sweet, I ended up getting a tanning package, lotion with a free week, explanation on the correct way to use a tanning bed. Then when I was done I ended up renting movies... she has a lot ... better then the one in Christopher "POOH's" They are rude. I also, noticed I couldn't help just talk to her she is really sweet. As to why they would treat people like her bad.. I don't know... I can say this... We need to support the Video Store and let them know we need them as much as they need us... As she said she is nothing without us.. So, lets make a stand and be there for her.

P.S. Almost forgot I noticed she treats everyone like they are family or good friends.... when I left the store I realized I had just made a very good friend.

The charges were arranged to be dropped by none other than..... J.R. Moore. Candidate for Franklin County Sheriff. More of the same back door politics. It was said that the son was a "confidential source" and couldnt face these charges and still work for him. Not gonna get my vote!

Well that's a bullshit story if I ever heard one! So he's an informer? Yeah my ass! His wife's family still believe that she was murdered instead of committing suicide! They believe the son that died killed her! Covered up from the very beginning!

Also the way I hear it , it wasn't the owner of the Video store that was attacked but, a customer. That customer is going to take her to the cleaners in a civil suit! She's like that! No way will she be satisfied with 12 months probation and a OP! She wants $$$$ and she is damn well gonna get it!

Yes, the person that was attacked was a customer in the video store. Vera was in there going off on the woman that runs the video store (she rents the building from vera)in front of customers. The customer tried to step in to diffuse the situation & vera atacked her. The woman who runs it is such a nice person. Super nice & friendly! I'm so glad she brought business to Zeigler too. I hope Vera gets what she deserves!
