Mark wrote: Ok, so you admit you don't know or have even heard of Bill, but you are sure he is the wrong candidate? Why? Because of his race? Religion? How do you know Bill won't help achieve "positive change"? His race, religion, where he lives? You come on here and talk about how he is the wrong candidate, but then admit you haven't even heard of him. That tells us a lot about your integrity. I don't care what race or religion a man is mark, and that's how I've lived my life, so get past it. have a nice life.

Just reading your posts in this thread alone prove otherwise. Oh, and I am having a very nice life thank you. And, I hope your life improves, it must be hard to live with such prejudicial attitudes.

And, I hope your life improves, it must be hard to live with such prejudicial attitudes. this is ridiculous. I'm no more prejudiced than Mother Theresa pal, and my immediate circle includes whites, blacks, hispanics, catholics, crc's, lutherans, republicans and democrats. How about you? hoekstra garnered a huge share of the dutch conservative voters. that is a fact, and I am not dutch and voted for him each time like many of my dutch friends. I think it's time for a change, and feel that 'bill', having worked for hoekstra, and aspiring to follow somewhat in his footsteps, won't be my choice. Enough already mark, that's it.........sheeez.

LOL If you aren't prejudiced at all, why do you continue to bring race and religion into the discussion? In your last post you again bring up that many Dutch voted for Pete. Why even bring this up? Your previous posts and this one continue to use race and religion as the basis for Bill not being a viable candidate to replace Pete. That is about as prejudiced as you can be. If you aren't prejudiced why did you even post in this thread to begin with? You have stated that you hadn't even heard of Bill before and now the only things you know about him is that he worked for Pete at one point and his ethnicity. Why would you even discuss this if you weren't trying to put down the stereotype that you brought up? If you said you don't think that we should vote for someone because they were African American or Hispanic or any other ethnicity I would call you out just as much as I have for this. It simply isn't right to put anyone down for their race, color, gender, religion, or hometown, no matter what it may be!

this is dumb, and you're being overly sensitive yourself about a prejudice that does not exist, at least on my end. I don't care if this guy is dutch, polish, russian or sudanese, you may, I don't. so long.

Tom when we read your very first post in this thread we get your prejudice. You can't try to deny it now. This is from your first post: tom wrote: oh great, a dutchman from zeeland, going to fight for our values. how original. what values? those of the wasps(white anglo saxon protestants) in narrow-minded zeeland, holland and drenthe?

And your second post continued to show your prejudice: tom wrote: <quoted text> clone would also apply I'm sure, or should I say, VanClone or VanderClone or VanClonesma?......anyway, you get it.

And then when I question wheter you really know Bill, this is how you respond to me. With even more stereotyping and prejudice. tom wrote: <quoted text> .....let me guess...you are white, of dutch heritage, crc or rc, from zeeland/holland, ant-casino, anti-anything-sunday, wouldn't consider voting for anyone else, and voting for 'bill' only because you can't vote for hoekstra, oh, and your family college affiliation is hope or calvin, and you have a secure job....am I about right?

If you had knew Bill and had any legitimate reasons why he shouldn't run or be elected to replace Pete, than maybe I would take it easy on you. But, you admit you hadn't even heard of him, and the only thing you continue to do is put down his race, religion, and hometown. You have shown us all how small minded and lacking in integrity you are. I am truly embarassed for you!

look marky, stop with the insults, and just go away, and stay in your own little world. I wasn't going to respond to you anymore, but your last insult really got to me, jerk.
as I've stated, I have now, and have always had, a large number of dutch friends throughout life since childhood, and many others regardless of faith, or race, more than I venture to say you have.
I am Catholic, and I grew up in a town that ws almost all dutch crc, rc. I had a kid ask me why I worshipped satan, and other kids who weren't allowed to play with me, or my siblings. some parents shunned us, and one crc man actually tried to organize a group to get us to leave town, because of the 'bad' influence a Catholic family would have on the community. fortunately, most weren't like the moron that he was. a Catholic friend moved into cutlerville some years ago, and the dutch neighbor shunned, and avoided them for years, because of their faith. throughout life, I've had good relationships with others that are good people and not that stupid, regardless of faith.
what I have posted here is the truth, and it's the last you'll see from me, so dry up and blow away.
