More and more youths are becoming involved in gangs. The whole point of "Gang School" is for teachers to recognizes the signs so that they can do what they can to stop gang activity. Teachers do what they do because they care about the students. They don't want to see any of their kids in gangs. These distrist are recognizing a threat to their students and trying to do something about it.

Since most of them are Mexican or Asian, I suggest deportation as a solution.

They are on the front lines in the fight for controlling gangs. One thing all gang members know.... The POLICE are gang #1 and the should respect them or else! My support is with Gang #1. The rest are Biatches.

I do know it looks pretty stupid to see the everpresent red headed pimple faced kid hanging out with "the gang" looking all ghetto. heheeheee....definitely stands out in the group..... As for enforcing the immigration laws starting with criminals first, we should focus SECOND on illegal families who allow their legal or illegal kids to run wild and become gang members. Keep these families together.....OUTSIDE THE US.

Gang problem? What gang problem?? That's what most people/schools/departments say until it's one of them who gets murdered...what about the teens involved in this "problem," and how can we keep our kids involved in other things? Here's a start, PARENTS: get involved in your kids lives, stop trying to be their friends and act like the music they listen to is okay, and the pants half off their a** is okay, and the friends they hang with are okay...start in elementary school. SCHOOLS: Stop acting like there's no problem...they are in every school!! Start prevention in Elementary school. CHURCHES: Stop acting like your kids can't be in a gang because they are "saved and sanctified." (James 2:19) NEIGHBORS: Stop being afraid to report graffiti and violence, take back your neighborhood! EVERYONE: Prevention is the key, Intervention is okay, Suppression is the cost.(can you tell I was there??)
Stay safe and Happy Resurrection!

Holland had some serious gang issues a few years back with firebombings and shootings becoming commonplace. They locked up the leaders and it miraculously almost stopped. The leaders are out now and it is back in swing. Locking up the offenders is the only solution that we have seen that works. Those are my tax dollars that I will happily see spent. I'll even send them Easter cards while they are locked away for long stretches. These punks can gangbang each other all they want in Prison!

NO MO wrote: COMPLETE WASTE OF TIME AND THROW THE GANGS OUT OF THE SCHOOLS. QUIT PANDERING TO THEM. GET BACK TO REALITY. The reality is that the schools are required to provide an education for ALL children, so unless they have caused problems in schools, they cannot be punished by the schools. Know the laws before you make a suggestion that is denigrating towards the schools.

But then how can they get tax payer money in their hands for all these new programs? The tax payer is always the loser. I say start firing govt people for incompetency and not doing as the public wants.

You and I know that works, but then how can the govt keep growing if we put an end to problems? It's almost like... We'll let crime get so bad, we'll have the public willing to pay us anything we want them to for making them feel safe. It's time we realize the govt makes mistakes too in their decisions. But are they mistakes, or plans? Just strange many competent people come up with good solutions, but we just cant get the govt to implement them.

God forbid it is no longer a sheltered, white, Christian Reformed community. They should have walled in the town years ago.

I might of been, but it was a good town with values. A place where you could take your kids and feel safe and see lots of smiles and know you were around people that loved God.
