Greta Who wrote: <quoted text> Who is Greta? Read her earlier posts - she was Trevor's friend before he went homicidal. She and her family obviously tried very hard to join the St. Francisville community, but somehow SF failed to welcome or understand them-so they left for greener pastures where everyone "gets" them.

I agree with the last poster. Adult crime. Adult time. He took an innocent child's life. May he rot in Angola for the rest of his pathetic life and rot in hell after that! That sick little bastard deserves no mercy. Who was there to show that innocent child any mercy? I hope they give him the death penalty, that is the help he Truly needs!

It doesn't matter why he did it, nothing will make it better, or bring back the innocent child. But instead of focusing our energy on speculations or saying hateful things I think we should all focus on the families hurt by this attack. Two families lost children on Thursday. Everyone should be respectful and allow those affected time to mourn. My prayers are with both families, friends of the families, and anyone else who has been affected by this crime. I knew Trevor, we were really good friends and he is not a monster. I am not saying what he did was right or anything and i think he should be punished. But he himself was just a child whenever this happened. Clearly he mentally ill. Wishing for the death penalty on him, makes you no better than him. He was a good kid, never been in trouble. A 4.0 in school. He is not a monster, he is just a very ill person. People should think about the things they say, most of you sound more like monsters than him.

I along with the vast majority of people around the world agree with you, He is just a kid and should never be in an adult court and not punished for life but treated as an member of this human race, a person who like all people can benefit from help...The USA stands alone in the world sentencing youth to die in prison.

He is being charged as an adult because of his age and the seriousness of his crime. The majority of countries do the same, and trust when I say the offender is going to get a much fairer shake than he would in other countries.

No other place has anywhere near the same rate of incarceration or length of term for youth 16 and younger as USA. many who are first time offenders and/or did not kill but will yet will never get out. 17-18 year olds who are repeat violent offenders are in a different class then those who just turned 16 and serving LWOP.

The real reason for life imprisonment is to protect the innocent. If this young man is mentally ill, as has been claimed by those who advocate something less than LWOP, then for the protection of potential innocent future victims he should be permanently kept out of free society. He gave up his right to freedom when he took the life of an innocent child. Nobody would have dreamed his mental illness would have caused him to kill a child, so now we must respect the FACT that his illness does cause him to kill and keep him away from potential future victims. We owe this to the innocent. That's not a cruel punishment for the crime. That is a common sense solution to protecting the lives of the innocent.

Your ignorance of the law is showing my friend…you have been greatly mislead if you think any a 16 year old that has been convicted of a nonviolent crime will “never get out” for his/her crimes. Our child advocacy laws are protects our young criminals more than any other nation.

A friend wrote: <quoted text> you have no room to judge, you did not know him, i knew trevor personally. trevor was one of the sweetest guys i knew, there is obviously something missing here. you are in my opinion worse than him, by far. they are acting like he is a hardened criminal. he is not, he is a kid who made the biggest mistake anyone can make, he also probably has a mental problem. you want him in jail, and to make an example out of him? he needs help, you will make a monster out of him if you send him to jail, he is not a monster now, you insult him and everyone who knew him by calling him things like baby killer and monster. what happened was horrible, completly horrible, but it is not your place to judge. it never will be your place to judge, and god help me if you try to judge again. you are an ass. Tell all whacha say to Jackson Atusso family!!!! Full!
