Kingman, AZ is a great place to live! It still have the small town feeling, low cost of living, mild weather, and good people. I downside would be it has limited shopping, but this has been changing over the last 1-2 yrs. Super Walmart, Home Depot, Staples, Petco, and others major chains are in the works. I have been here for 15 yrs and have seen most of the improvements in the last 18 months. If you would like more informaiton, please feel free to contact me pambender@gmail.com

Kingman is like all cities. Pick what part of the city that you want to live with care. In general it is considered a very safe place.

I'm a local realtor and based on the information I've gotten, the Golden Valley area in there are two different aquafers one with 800,000 acre feet the other more to the south has 1.5 mil acre feet. There are 14 active wells with large tanks in the area. Alos Mohave County has 1000 miles of Colorado River water rights. Those rights currently are not used and are sold to teh other cities in the soutwest. I saw the article also concerning the 15000 acre feet per usage. There's alot of water in the area. Not opinion only facts.

I am interested in moving to Golden Valley, on the southwest side around Egar and Bolsa. Anyone have any thoughts to this area. I just love the mountain view. Any thoughts to this area growing fast?

What will happen in 4 or 5 years if the rate of growth stays the same? With no rain the water is not replaced. We are using more water than we are getting replaced each year.

Thanks Dave for the great information. Has anyone contacted the newspaper to clarify that article? as it came across as if there is a great water shortage. What should especially be told is the 1000 miles of Colorado River water rights that are not being used, but sold to other regions.

Well, it seems that drug use, and the crime that goes with it, is a much bigger problem than lack of water.

DUI, Babs, I see you're in Oatman. I visited Oatman years ago. I found it to be a cozy town with burros in the streets, and a gun fight in the afternoon. Is it still so?
