IAFF Abuse, is there any evidence that any Vallejo firefighters or cops are abusing worker's comp? Is your purpose to offer a topic for discussion or to be a hate monger?
I've had intelligent dialogue with PS posters, with some success. However, maybe we can begin another one. Here's one of my previous posts and my position on the subject of PS compensation. Please read it and comment.

In a competitive free market society like we have in the private world, one’s value is determined by what a corporation is willing to pay someone based on the value to the corporation along with its job requirements (education, skills, experience, hazard, and kind of work).

An ambulance paramedic’s value to a private company in the Bay Area and CA is worth $40,000 per year and with benefits it equals around $56,000 per year (40% more for benefits). This is what a IAFF FF/Paramedic in the Bay Area and CA should get paid in the REAL WORLD because an IAFF FF is nothing more than a Glorified Ambulance Paramedic with a Fire Certification.

Unfortunately, the Government World is the Artificial World because there is Corruption and Conflict of Interest between the Unions and our Representatives. The taxpayers have no real “checks and balances” against these scams. In fact, the Unions and our Representatives hide information from us, deliberately. Contract negotiations are done behind closed doors, by law.

The following is why the total compensation of Cops and IAFF FFs in the Bay Area and CA are overblown and artificial (over $200,000 per year).

-A pattern of PS union racketeering activity throughout CA for financial gain (potential RICO Act offense)
-Monopoly Bargaining by the Unions (No competition)
-Quid Pro Quo Endorsements of our Representatives
-Minimum Staffing Scams
-Binding Arbitration Inequity
-Coercive Union Political Power
-Inefficient Government Operation (especially FFs)
-Lack of Incentive and accountability to reduce costs and work efficiently
-Inflexible primarily Seniority-based labor versus Performance-based labor
-Fake Diploma Mill scams
-Secret Negotiations with Unions allowed by the Brown Act
-Union Business Leave scams (Abalone Diving, etc)
-False Disability Claims
-False Worker’s Comp Claims
-Excessive Vacation Time

The Bottom Line is all IAFF FFs and Cops in CA are GROSSLY OVERPAID!!! In fact, most Government Employees in CA are OVERPAID!!!

You don't even know how to argue correctly. You contradict yourself you dumbas5!! You compare private company paramedics to a city firefighter/paramedic. Private medics are not firefighters! They are not trained to fight a fire nor are they equipped to do so. Firefighters fight fires as well as handle medical emergencies. All firefighters are at least EMTs while some are paramedics. Again your facts are WRONG and your arguments are distorted. Jealousy is rearing its ugly head! Stop posting until you are able to argue at an intelligible level.

Tired and weak argument!! Try using the other brain cell you have, this one is apparently tired! It helps if you use facts!

As I understand it, the only reason that Cal Fire is not interested in coming to Vallejo to bid is because they will not go against another unionized active agency (talk about collusion among unions). Once we can void the PS contracts, Cal Fire will have no limitations to give Vallejo a proposal for their Fire Safety. We don’t know if it would be worthwhile for them to come here or not until a proposal is made. We can at least ask.
I would think that Cal Fire would want to come to Vallejo and begin establishing a base for future expansion of their operation in Solano County so that possibly some other Bay Area FDs could be manned by Cal Fire, especially when City Managers are looking to reduce expenses. The PS Departments are the most likely choices to reduce expenses.
If the Cal Fire possibility is not feasible, then we need to look at the Private Ambulance/Fire Volunteer route to replace our current VFD, as I’ve mentioned before and potentially save at least $10 million.

Anybody with a GED who can hold a hose and drive a truck without running into buildings will work. How much training does it take to teach somebody to hold a fire hose? Actually, maybe it's the wax on - wax off technique with the engines that requires the training.

When you are paying and compensating GED and HS educated cops, FF and prison guards $200K per year it is only a matter of time before EVERYONE files BK.

The state is, from a CASH FLOW standpoint-bankrupt.
