They should call it "Tweaker Heaven".. Maybe the transfer station should just send it all back to where it came from... Wal Mart!

Can we donate goods or do we have to pay to dump only to have transfer station pull it out to resell?

Good question! Last year we emptied out my mom in laws shed and took all sorts of working equipment and furniture to the Ukiah transfer station. It wasn't cheap to get rid of either. It would make me more than a little upset if they charged me to dump it only to pull it out and sell it for a profit.

Honestly why do you people have problems with them selling the stuff that are still useable? Do you not know that this way there will be less things piling up in the landfill? There are always people there going through the garbage anyways to sort out the items people are too lazy to sort in the first place? Now I have a great place to get rid of all the items I don't want to throw away that are still good(children's books/bikes/toys) but don't want to have to try and sell and a yard sale? I think this is a great idea and you people who can only mock others instead of helping out in the community. Keep sitting on your @sses and making fun of good ideas, real productive aren't you?

I think it's a good idea. I'll sort my dump loads so it's easier for them.

So you have no problems "paying" people to sell your cast offs? I would have no problem if they didn't charge to drop it off but to charge a fee then turn around and make a profit...not right imo.
where do you get that

Where did you get the info that Trader Joe's is not allowed? The City or County would love to have them, but they need to apply first. Just like COSTCO, they could come here now. It is a business decision that THEY will make when THEY are ready.

Do you have a problem paying $6 to take a load of garbage? I don't at all. You will pay $5 for a crappy cup of joe but you have a problem paying $6 to unload a truck full of junk? What I have a problem with is paying $1500/year for property taxes for land that I OWN. Now THERE'S a legit problem, not a measly $6 per load at the dump. Here's a big tip for you, any washers/dryers/refrigerators, TAKE THEM APART. They won't charge you, because it is scrap metal. TV's you don't pay for either, nor monitors for that matter. So honestly it's really not that expensive.

Daily Horoscope for December 31

Leo

There's an erratic quality to the day, thanks to the Full Moon in emotional Cancer, combined with a lunar eclipse. Loved ones are likely to behave in ways you hadn't counted on. The only way to cope with this is to be as flexible as possible. Someone might change an arrangement at the eleventh hour so you have to think on your feet, or others may be determined to do their own thing even though it doesn't suit you. Get any arguments out of the way quickly so you can enjoy your New Year's Eve celebrations with a glad heart.
