Nobody seems to want to mention that the man open-carrying the AR-15 was behaving in a calm, non-threatening, diplomatic manner even when confronted by police and fellow citizens.
This just goes to show how irrationally fearful the press and mainstream America is of firearms - a well-dressed black man would be non-threatening to just about everyone, but add a black piece of metal and polymer and suddenly he's a deranged lunatic in all but action? We seem to be suffering from collective hoplophobia, cultivated by politicians and media execs who know nothing about guns, outside of what they see on the news. |
