Missing LA County deputy sought in national forest

Does anyone know what and how he died? and how? I understand he was a fit and healthy person, did he die of exposure to the heat? or what? this is so aweful, our prayers go out to the family involved!

Sadly I understand he committed suicide. The autopsy is a formality.
