What a heinous thing to do when you have a van full of children in your care!!!!!!! It's terrible at ANY time, but all of those children died needlessly cuz their trusted caregiver was drunk and high. What a shame for her brother who loast all three of his daughters. And for her husband who lost their daughter. And for her son, who survived, but now has to grow up without his mom, sister and cousins - and grow up with the knowledge that his mom did this terrible thing that tore their family apart (not to mention the other family she killed!).

This lowlife piece of garbage Diane Shuler as she was known should rot in hell. She destroyed many family lives and dreams for no reason. Everyone should pee on her grave if she has one. No cemetary should allow her garbage body entry. I'm sure she didn't donate her body parts, junkies usually don't.

They should investigate the husband and the others there at the campsite. The people camping must have known there was alcohol and drugs, and they should be held partially accountable for allowing her to drive.

This is terrible there is more to the story. People had to have known she was a user. Also, they have something to do with it and they should have known something. Something is not being told about it.

I think this woman was trying to cope with the selfish, oppressive men in her life. I think she just gave up. We women are only human just like men.

Why couldn't her husband at least have taken their two kids? No, he and her brother dumped it all on her.

I guess she wanted it all, but had no support from her husband or brother. Better her than me. And I bet working at Cablevision was no piece of cake either.

I think she just threw in the towel.

If only white women could get some mercy in this world! Why are we so hated and rejected?

Now everybody wants to crucify her without even giving it a thought.

Whatever the newspaper says, everybody goes along with. "HOW COULD SHE" it reads, so everybody agrees without even using their imagination to figure it out.

I understand what you are saying. Maybe she threw in the towel or maybe she was just a junkie..But it does not justify throwing in the towel for 4 little girls. Nothing justifies that - she had no right!

I am perplexed yet blown away how could anyone be this irresponsible with the lives of others? There is no reasonable explanation....you better believe there is definately more to the story than we have read or heard from the media.....my theory (just a hunch)...She was possibly a recovering alcoholic(what a horrible disease at that) and she started to slip off the wagon but noone realized that she started to regain her problem back (a true alcoholic is so good at hiding it)..... I do believe her brother knew she was "jacked-up" when she called him ....she was probably slurring and not making sense etc. and that is why he called state police and told her to stay put so he could get the children without incident or accident to safety....but unfortunately alcoholics do "whatever they want to do" without even realizing the consequences ...... It's hard to understand this tragedy, don't believe everything you read ,I'm confused as to why they never detected any alcohol in the first place....such a horribly terrible incident for all 4 families involved,I pray that God will help them find strength and courage to make sense of it all,if it's at all possible.

I agree that this is a horrible thing and sympathize with all families involved. She may or may not have had issues but I know her being "white" had nothing to do with it. If you want to ditch men, thats fine, but don't play the race card! I am white and I think women of all race as well as men of all race are equally respoonsible for their own actions!

NO EXCUSE!!!!!...bottom line she made the decision to drink and use drugs knowing she was going to drive ... it's 100% her fault..no matter the circumstances.. SHE MURDER THOSE INNOCENT PEOPLE.

You are right there is no excuse....but we are only guessing at an explanation as to the "why?"and "how?"....there is absolutely no excuse to dismiss her actions....I don't think anyone is arguing that....There is no way to justify the abuse of alcohol and drugs and then taking lives of innocent human beings into your own hands while intoxicated. And I seriously doubt it has anything to do with being a white woman (as someone above mentioned)or selfish oppresive men in her life...There are women in this world (no matter what race)that have things worse off than that and still manage to instill morals goals etc. into their children,so.....Oh and besides one of the articles i read said at the campgrounds the husband took the kids for the week (5 days)she met up w/ them on the weekends (sat.sun.)which hints again toward my on/off the wagon drug/alcohol abuse theory.

She drove in a recklessly dangerous manner for many miles. People were calling the police about her passing on the right, flashing her lights, and generally risking the lives of every one on the road.

She was impaired. No excuses.

You're right, of course.

But maybe she saw their future. Being second class citizens. Being abused by men. Being treated as unimportant. Maybe she figured, I'll take them to heaven and get them out of here, with all these crazy, numbnuts men driving us crazy, using their testosterone to twist everything.

Throwing away all the talent that women have. Throwing away their contribution to making the world a better place. Constantly mocking women, etc.

Just sayin..

Daily Horoscope for December 30

Libra

If you're invited to a party or gathering today and you don't know whether to go, you should. You'll have a terrific time and you might meet someone who always makes your knees go weak. Even if it's a perfectly harmless flirtation and you're both happily committed to other people, it will still do your ego good to have a tantalizing conversation with this person.
