Yonkers Police Brutality.Racial Profiling (Sears Security Cameras Captured It)

My girl friend works at Sears (Cross County Shopping Center in Yonkers NY) I pick her up anytime she close from work. The Cross County Shopping Security Guards sometimes sees me at the parking lot waiting to pick her up.
On the 15th of August, I was waiting to pick her up at the parking lot at 5pm. Around 4:45pm, I decided to go to her department after waiting for a while. I saw the Yonkers Police drive through the area, Cross County Security Patrol and other people parking and leaving their cars. It did not bother me, since it was normal. Sears’s surveillance was at the area.
I left the car and went to the Sears store to my girl friend’s department. When I came out of the store, the police were all around my car. They approached me, whilst I was walking to my car. One Police officer said he wanted to see my ID. I ask why he needed my ID and if there was a problem. They got angry and forcibly grabbed me aggressively for asking why? Then I said, I am picking up my girl friend from work.
In their aggressive act of the arrest without a reason, I felt something in my mouth. I closed my mouth not knowing it was one of the officer’s hands. I don’t know why he put his hands in my mouth. I heard,“he bit me”. They all jumped in and beat me down terribly. I sustained several heard injuries from the punches. Then they took my keys and went to search my car which was legally parked and towed it away. They gave me a felony for assort and a misdemeanor for disorderly conduct. The allege bite was a reflex action, I had no control of. I did not resist, kick, nor punch anybody. I have already spent 5days in jail for nothing. My next court date is 09/14/2009 at Yonkers Court.
The Police lied on their report.
If anybody out there can help me fight this case I would be glad. There was a Sears’s video surveillance. It will prove me innocent. If Sears give out this video at the court room, this case will be solve. If they refuse to stand by the true, then justice will never prevail over evil racist act.
All I asked the Police was simple. Why they wanted my ID? Help me fight this. This is not the America I know. My right as an individual was not respected. I did nothing wrong to deserve this America. I pick her up all the time.
I cannot afford an attorney even with a video surveillance at the scene. They want me to pay up front $2500.

Why would he put his fingers in your Mouth? You should have gave him your ID. Tell your tax payer paid lawyer to ask for the tapes if you think theres one.

I was not there, to say what happened and who did what and all that I know of this story is from your words...It is very obvious (according to news reports and other things that I have seen) that Yonkers police has a serious probem that seems to be shoved under the carpet and never exhumed. You need that tape, if your innocence is on that tape then you need to get a hold of it hopefully through your lawyer. You have got to trust that truth will show through. If you are not guilty of anything as you have said then trust that you will find a way through....Sometimes that is all we have. Good Luck

Yonkers police have been known for their racial profiling and brutality..

Sears may not help you. I had an issue at a sears parking lot as well and they would not release the surveillance video.

I am also a victim of yonkers police brutality but its been happening for years and now is being noticed I was taken to hudson river and beatin and takin to jail just for being in the glen park after dark . Yonkers Police your gonna get caught soon.

The last time I went to court which was the 5th one, my legal aid went on a conference. He told me the police said they thought I was steeling from Sears. He added, "Sears knows nothing about anybody steeling from their store". My girl use to work at Sears but, she was embarrassed to go back to work after what happened.
The legal aid said, if I plea guilty now they can make the case drop to just a common violation with a fine of $120 with no criminal offense.
I said I will not take any deal. Racism is no laughing matter. This is not the 60's. I have lived my life peacefully without any problems. My freedom as a young black man was not respected. America stands for freedom. Soldiers are fighting to free others. Yonkers police need to respect that. No one is above the law.

I have news for you; it's not about race. The cops are like this with ALL THOSE who are not their friends or connected to the force in some way. While I can understand that it may seem like white people get off more, honestly, it is probably just their friends. I have been stopped, harassed and bother many times by the cops, and I'm really white.

Do what I did; move the hell out of Yonkers. It's a disgusting pit of despair and scumbags. I've lived there for about 30 years, I should know.

Do you know what happens to people who don't have the brains to go to college or learn a skilled trade? They become (crooked) cops or some other type of government worker. I used to respect them when I was younger. However, after dealing with their bs, I now realize that they will screw you over if they don't like you.

FYI - Cops need a minimum of 2 semesters in college to get on the force.

People without the brain to go to college, or learn a skilled trade can turn out like the following:

1. hardworking people with minimum wage jobs trying to make a living
2. welfare sucking bums who are totally useless
3. Lazy people who use their connections to get a job

being cops makes them stupid, but being stupid doesn't make them cops
