Stabbing Suspect's Mom Speaks Out Against Gang Violence

The Police need to step up! They need to follow through on every report or word they get and not brush it off as if nothing is going to happen! This tragedy could have been prevented if they would have just done their jobs! Protected the Herring family from the beginning! My son too has been threatened by several members of this gang just for knowing Adam. STOP the VIOLENCE before it is too late and another child is KILLED!!

I am horrified of these senseless killings.. My kids knew the kids involved also..It is rumored by all the kids of Osceola county that if you knew these kids that you are now receiving death threats just for knowing them.. My kids have told me of their friends who are in this situation..I really don't want this to turn out to be an all out war of inexperienced teenagers takin laws & opinions into their own hands...Parents need to stand TOGETHER against violence & against these teenagers..Know what your kids are doing & who they are with, & even if they hate you forever, don't let them go places that these events are happening..It's for their safety & our peace of mind...Please..........

The Osceola County Sheriff's office and the St. Cloud PD have been given the names and even pictures of some of these gang members myspace pages advising them of death threats that they have been saying. The school principal and resource officer has also been given their names. Unfortunately, I haven't seen anything done about it yet! In fact one of the gang members has been heard saying that he wants to get in trouble just to go to Juvenile Det. so he can get at Adam. I hope the cops at least have them under surveillance. What is up with their parents? Don't they know their kids are in gangs? Haven't they been told that there kids are going around threatening other kids and in fact an adult? I think the parents should be held accountable too for their kids actions maybe then they would parent these kids and keep them on the straight and narrow! What is this world coming to?

Yep, you are right! I know a kid personally that has been told he is on the list of the Power Rangers of who they are coming after! For what? No reason! He knows both of these kids and if this gang feels that you have disrespected or just if you look at them the wrong way, they will come after you! The sad part is, is that these kids are fueled by the lies in the media and the gossip and hear say going on at school about the homicide. They don't have the facts and instead of being smart enough to find out the facts first, they act first. These gang members and their friends are all about retaliation! Even if they have no beef with the other person, they will still go after them and threaten them! It is sensless and a waste of life. Why waste your life as a hoodlum, running around starting violence, threatening lives, breaking laws and just being everything bad in this world? Don't you have any asperations to be something or someone one day!

The nerve of this mother trying to lay blame on the police for her son killing another human being. Where does her responsibility start and end? Her son was already on probation for punching another kid and breaking his nose. What was he doing out at a party? Why was he allowed to go anywhere or do anything? How involved was she in his life since she knew he had been involved in gang activity before? I have raised children and not one of them was involved in gangs or violence because I knew where they were and who they were with and had control over their behavior. She should admit her part in raising a child that turned out to be a killer. She should accept that it was her role to raise a child proper and not let him get involved in these types of things. If she wants somebody to blame, she should blame the person she sees in the mirror.

You are wrong! There is a gang called the "Power Rangers". I have seen them and they blattenly put that they are in a gang on their myspace pages with their gang signs. So, you can't say they don't exist because they do! This child is not a murderer, this child was attacked from behind and hit over the head with a weapon. I know that if this kid could turn back time and bring back the child that died he would!

i personally knew all of the boys suspected of being in this so called gang."the power rangers" was a bond between them as they grew up as brothers.Chandler loved the power rangers and so did all of the other one. It was like any strong group of friends.Im sure when all of you were growing up you had some little name in your group that you called yourself like power puff girls or a fun thing like that. If you ever even had a bond like that with a group of friends. He loved them so much and they each chose what color they want.This cry out for it being called a gang is ridiculous, so much for kids just wanting to express themselves i guess they cant even do that these days.

oh so you blatenly saw that they put hey im in a gang called power rangers on their myspace pages or hey im purple power ranger and im the yellow power ranger and etc.I knew these boys, all of them.and im sorry that you people think its a crime for a bunch of bioys who have called themselves this since they were young to always bond them tognther.I saw what happened and no he was not hit over the head with a weapon. this is a sad excuse to cover up what happened. it makes me laugh that people have the nerve to even say that the power rangers were a gang when they didnt know the boys at all. You know..I have 2 teenage children. I am known by them as a mean mother(if u ask them that is) And why do they say that, u ask? Its because I won't let them go where I believe that trouble will or could start..My son could have gone to that party too, but I flat out said no.I also warned him if I caught him anywhere near there that I would call the cops myself.. I can't understand the fact that an adult was there( sleeping no less) with 30 or so teenagers in his house..What the hell was he thinking..I could have told you it was bad news from the start.What is with parents these days..U are not ur childrens friend, u are their parent.It is ok to say no and mean it..Who cares what they think of you.. I am so pissed about the lack of parenting in this day & age.. I just read in the paper about a 14 yr old grl whose mother allowed her to goto a theme park w/ a 31 yr old man. She also allowed the child to hang out w/ this guy & now he's in jail on statutory rape & sexual assault charges..Not that it is ok that he did this, but the mother should have never let the child out of her sight..I hear more & more stories of parental neglect & it just aggravates me to no end...BE PARENTS NOT FRIENDS!!!!!!!!!!This mother of the suspect should have never let him go there if she knew like she claims that there was tension between him & the other kid..Common sense tells u that..He also was on probation,,It's illegal for him to have a weapon on probation or to be out that late at night..I just don't get it.....?????

Amen to that! The funeral was today and these so called friends in the little grp that call themselves "Power Rangers" threatened several people that if they showed up to the funeral they were taking them out. Oh is that was a group of friends do? Threats in this day and age can not be tolerated! There is too much violence and all parents should hold on tighter to their kids. Pull the reigns on them tighter so this doesn't happen to someone else. I can't wait until the trial and all the TRUTH comes out, maybe all this hate and threats will stop, once and for ALL!!

These are their names on myspace. Several of them have pictures of the Power Ranger characters on their pages. They each are a color and a number. Sounds like a real gang to me!

Excellent post and the most common sense that has been expressed here. The word is Responsibility. A child is dead by her son's hand and trying to shove blame off on others does nothing but make her sound like another Cindy Anthony.

So, one kid kills another kid at an illegal open house party and somehow the police are at fault. The police are not PARENTS. Ipu be the parents and hopefully the police won't have to get involved. At any given time, the police are outnumbered on the street by about 5000 to 1. It's not the police, its not violence on TV, its parents not teaching their kids core values that prevent things like hatred, theft, killing, drugs and other less-than-savory activity. This incident is tragic on many levels but lets not put the blame on the brave men in blue and green. If you think you can do better, go to the academy and suit up, I'll see you on the street.
