Hey I moved here from Syracuse NY. There is no work at all during the down season. It doesnt matter what skills you have theres always atleast 10 more aplicants with more experience than you willing to work for less.

As for it being ghetto, Hyannis is probly the worst but it doesnt hold a candle to anything Utica or Syracuse has. This place is a kids playground compared to them. I think maybe there is all of 3 shootings on cape in a year. Everyone leaves thier doors unlocked(beacuse its so safe) and freaks out if someone breaks into them.

So as for the job you should be fine finding one in the summer. As for the living just lock your doors and pretend your still in Utica and no one here can touch you.

thanks for responding, but since the time i posted my comment to now, i too realized there is no work in the cape in the down time which scares me because i need to be employed year round, and as for the crime i know, me and my fiance always say how "safe" we feel there, but we have decided to look outside the cape, plymouth, taunton, brockton..etc.... houses have more sqft and easier to commute to boston if need be, but thanks for the input....glad you got outta NY
