Husband Charged For Shooting Wife 27 Weeks Pregnant
On Saturday, October 4, 2008 around 3:14 am Mebane Police investigators responded to 1426 Birkdale Circle in shooting.

Let's all who know him hope it was because like Shocked wrote, and we all are shocked, he was highly respected and admired in many ways. These accusations are the opposite of the man I knew. The only two articles you can find on the internet are very vague and don't make alot of sense.

This is totally getting out of control people....you need to drop to your knee's and pray for all the family members . The media tells you a sensational story no one knows the facts but Robert and Danna ..I do hope the truth will be allowed to be told!!!!!!!

I think people who do not know Mr. Broom have no room to speak or make accusations... i can tell you the man impacted my life in a positive manner when i was going through a dark tunnel in life! let the evidence prove what it does, but as far as gossip and slander there is no room for that stuff... I pray for all the families involved. i hope the police have this. if they are right then the law must prevail and he should pay the price for his actions... i respect the man though...

I hope and pray daily for Robert, Danna, and their respective families. This tragedy has produced many saddened hearts within our community. The man accused has had a profoundly positive impact on many individuals - it is an overwhelming reality. I ask all who read this to pray for the victims. Regardless of the facts surrounding the incident, there is an entire family needing our help with prayers and hope for healing.....

If it was an accident, WHY did he wait so long to get help for Danna? Hmmm, and what was he doing out driving and being picked up in the middle of the night when he should be next to his wife while she lies in the hospital with an accidental gun shot wound? Hmmmmmm something to think about.

Confused: I can't help you with the question of the delay in reporting the shooting, but as for why he was picked up in the middle of the night:
Broom was apprehended - without incident - on I-40 W in Alamance county. Since he lives in Mebane it's entirely possible he HAD been at the hospital and was simply driving home. Obviously I don't know any better than anyone besides Broom what he was doing, but what he was doing when he was arrested is hardly evidence that he's guilty of the charges. |

Holly, how is Danna and the girls doing? My son has taken martial arts from Robert for the last 5 years. I have noticed a change in Robert for the last year but could not forsee this event. There are so many unanswered questions to this and it has been very hard to understand. Prayers to your family and thanks for sharing your thoughts.

The story adds:
"An additional investigation released information showing Broom unlawfully confined his wife and failed/refused to render aid or call for medical attention after the shooting" The media has not sensationalized this story. Give me a break. read the police report.... read the arrest reports... listen to the 911 recording.... He waited hours before calling 911 and sounded like it was a total stranger that was shot. He did not sound like a concerned spouse....but why should he? He is afterall a cheating husband and selfish father. May he get what he deserves and may Danna and the girls find peace. |

Danna if you read this please know that you have been, and always will be in my thoughts and prayers. To all who really know Danna will know that she has unbelievable inner strength and will learn to pull from that to heal from what has happened to her and her family. I will always "love you more than my luggage". Know that I am here for you!!!

i lived by these people and remember the day that they moved in their new house.I first thought they were a big happy family. I personally seen things when the husband was home alone and the wife child and house nanny were out of town. HES A CHEATER!!! HES GUILTY!!!!

How is Danna and the baby? She was one of my direct neighbors and nobody seems to know hows shes doing. The nanny moved down the street and does not talk to anyone. The neighborhood misses Danna. Hope all is well. We will keep the prayers strong for both!
