DID TARGET, LOCAL AUTHORITIES AND LOCAL MEDIA SUPPRESS THE MARCH 12, 2009 VIOLENT ATTACK AT THE MOUNT DORA STORE? IT APPEARS SO!
The stabbing of an elderly Leesburg couple Saturday (April 4, 2009) night at a Target store was the second knife attack at the store in a month. According to an arrest affidavit, a 33-year-old man had a knife placed to his throat in front of his wife and two children on March 13 inside the same U.S. Highway 441 Target store in Mount Dora. That victim, Laurent Body, was able to grab the knife's blade and push it away from his throat, while asking the suspect if he was going to kill him in front of his children. The couple called the manager and 911, and police arrested the suspect in the parking lot shortly afterward. "I was able to just talk my way out of it," Body told the Daily Commercial. "I wasn't going to play the victim." James Edward Ray, 26, of Mount Dora, was charged with aggravated assault and possession of hydrocodone in the March 13 incident, and was jailed on $10,000 bail. Mount Dora police Lt. Robert Bell said the two attacks were unrelated. However, like the Saturday attack at the store that left an elderly couple with multiple stab wounds, police said it was unclear why Ray attacked Body. According to an arrest affidavit, Ray had walked up to Body and asked if he played Xbox360, but the victim walked away. About two minutes later, Ray allegedly jumped out from the aisle behind the victim and placed a knife to his throat as his wife and his children -- then age 3 and 6 -- watched. "It just seems he was on drugs," said Body. "He was sweating profusely." Lt. Bell said on Tuesday said they are still trying to determine why Philip Heintzen, 80, and his wife, Sandra, 70, were attacked Saturday and are currently studying surveillance video for more answers. Police said around 7 p.m. Saturday, Jonathan Levy, 24, approached the couple as they were leaving the store and with knives in both hands, allegedly stabbed them multiple times in the torso and back. Mrs. Heintzen apparently had tried to scare the suspect away with her cane from attacking her husband, when he turned the knife on her, police said. Levy took nothing from the couple after he stabbed them, police said. He was captured soon afterward and booked into the Lake County jail and charged on two counts of attempted first-degree murder. His bond was set at $250,000. The Heintzens were taken to Orlando Regional Medical Center, police said. Mount Dora police spokesperson Robin Mayfield said Mrs. Heintzen was in serious but stable condition. Mr. Heintzen underwent extensive surgery for his injuries and was in intensive care Tuesday. "He's not out of the woods yet, but we're optimistic," said Mayfield. Body said he hopes to visit the couple soon. "Their story has touched me," Body said. "I know I was very luck." Subsequent to this story Mr Heintzen die of his injuries. |

Nawww, can't be. Afterall Target Shoppers would have us believe that they are more "upscale" than Walmart ones. But even Walmart doesn't have two stabbing incidents within a short time. Hmmmm... |

I have been watching this development for some time now. It is my understanding the Lady victim also succumbed to her injuries so this defendant should now be charged with two counts of murder in the first degree. Shortly before this horrible crime was committed on these nice folks another person was the victim of aviolent attack inside this store. Fortunately the victim was young and agile enough that he overpowered his attacker subsequently saving his life. This entire crime was choked out by the local police and all of the local controlled media sources who will not print anything the "authorities" tell them not to do. Perhaps if this couple had have been aware they were in a high crime zone they would have been more cautious and possible this tragedy could have been overted. Target, like Disney and all other major money makers put dollars before human life. for this they should pay. They continue to turn these violent offenders out over and over. Lake Judges Miller, Singletary, Johnson are the worst offenders but all will do it if given the chance.

there was only one stabbing incident at target. The first incident a person pulled a knife however the victim was able to fend off the attacker without being hurt.

Happy, If you count both of these victims there was two stabbings at once that resulted in the death of two people. In the first incident you are totally correct. The first man was able to subdue his attacker. But Target and the Mt Dora PD was also able to subdue the news media reports of same. It was suppressed period. that will come out in the lawsuit. They all should just learn to be honest, it make life so much easier. Kind of like ole tricky Dick Nixon, it wasn't really the Watergate burgulary that got them all in trouble, it was the coverup.

1 Target is responsible for everythng that happens on their property where they invite the public to come too and do business. Like disney has for years they suppressed the act of violence on their property about 30 days before this occurance. They and the MDPD had an obligation to the public to make that act of violence released to the public. They conspired to cause that not to happen.(These facts are well documented.) When dorothy Lewis and her two young children were kidnapped from the old Eustis Winn dixie on a dim lighted parking lot. Winn Dixie paid dearly. No it did not bring those two little girls back, no more than a law suit will bring this nice elderly couple back. Maybe just maybe Target will instruct its brain dead employee's to pay more attention and stop ordering them to act like Disney and control everything. Thats the point of the suit. And I'll just bet if you had a family member who was murdered or seriously injured you'd be the first one looking for John Morgan. You can't shet me I'm hockey proof. |

Target would only be responsible if something happened due to some fault of theirs. Target cannot know what the hell is going on in the minds of everyone who patronizes their business. So, by what you're saying, if I am driving on a City street, a County road or a State highway, and I am involved in an automobile accident, I would have the right to sue whichever's roadway I was on? That they are responsible for what any moronic driver does that results in the accident? Or would I sue the vehicle manufacturer?? And no, I am one of the few who isn't out looking to make a fast buck from a sypathetic jury. Whether or not the previous incident at Target was publicized or not makes no difference. How do you or the family know whether this would have made any difference as to whether their parents continued to patronize Target. |

1 They're probably the ones actually getting sued, so an out of court settlement is not likely. |
