Absolutely crazy. What planet do these UAW leaders come from. They no longer have any bargaining power. The auto industry in MI is being regularly outperformed by foreign makers. And the UAW is still living in the 70's. No wonder there were more folks moving out of MI than any other state in the US.

Going on strike: costing me $700 a week...... Sleeping in on Monday morning: the way life should be......Not having funds to pay my mortage, car loan and not supporting my family because someone else thinks they are getting ripped off: Hey, I/we deserve it....Maybe my neighbor will let me borrow his Toyota. Unions are on the way out and so are our jobs. See ya in Mexico....GM de Mexico, on the way.

Wake up UAW! DO this and you can kiss that plant good bye. Just like my plant in Fort Wayne, IN Watch American Axle dissapear from the Three Rivers Landscape within 5 years also! The union is done. They suck you for your money every month then pay you crap when they want YOU to strike. Take the pay cut and keep your job or don't and live on welfare. Your choice.

They deserve a fair contract, and striking is the last resort. Just because there is a recession and high enemployment, it's no excuse not to have what's fair. No one likes a strike, but if the company won't play ball then there is no other good choice.

THE UNION IS DESTROYING BUSINESS!!! Get with the times, this is why I do not live in Michigan!! I Love the Great Lakes State!! UAW is going to squeeze the life blood out of what is left of the struggling economy. China or Mexico will gladly take those jobs, for 25% of what they pay you low skilled workers. We are in a Global economy WAKE THE HELL UP!! Business cannot continue to lose money and expect to compete globally you are idiots!!

Unions are dead... Give the jobs to people who would love to have them. And then the ex-union workers can serve me my fries in the drive thru at McDonalds.

Where on earth do you get your information on the possibility of a strike at GM in Wyoming? Your reporting is very inaccurate and an attempt to turn the public against unions. Get your facts straight before you publish them. The only people who know the issues being discussed are those on the barging committee. If your information did not come from them then you do not have any creditable source. Your inaccurate reporting does nothing but hurt the community. Try something different for a change and report the facts and keep away from fiction writing.

If you don't think its "fair", then leave, start your own business. But noooo, way to lazy for that, and it would cost to much. I'd have to pay my own salary and insurance. I'd rather sit on my Union Fat butt and suck it out of a company. "Don't I deserve it?"

The deals the auto makers and the unions made in the past is what is bringing the auto industry down.$25 an hour for an assembly line job with full benefits? Insane. There is no incentive for these people to work hard. They are protected by the union. Those days are over. I say if they strike, fire the lot of them and hire people who are eager to work. There are plenty of good people out there begging for jobs.

How about paying their employees a fair wage to start with an incentive tacked on based on the quality of their work? Performance based pay. It can be based on individual performance or team performance. I retired from a company that paid it's employees this way. Believe me, it works. Those who work hard earn much more than their peers doing the same job who do just enough to get by; without a union. Every manager knows that if you treat your people right they will work hard. For those managers who can't grasp this concept, fire them. It's about time people earn what they are paid, not just collect a paycheck that the union negotiated for them. Stop crying and go to work.

If the majority of people would actually get accurate information from sources other than the news on TV and radio, and even the news papers they would have a clue. None of this is as simple as they'd like you to believe. And we have to deal with the masses inability, and possible unwillingness, to use critical thinking. BUSINESS IS DESTROYING BUSINESS.

Let's see a show of hands that believe they could survive our economy, especially in the best of times, on Chinese and/or Mexican wage scales. That's alright, raise your hands if you think so. It's not like stupid is illegal. The samrt police aren't going to come and arrest you. YET.

Mind your own damn business. Why is it that everyone likes to complain soooooooooo much. If it aint this is that, we always have to find something right?. who the hell are we to turn are nose up @ them. The price of EVERYTHING is going up why should they lower their pay by half I can see maybe by $5, but half I'd be pissed the F off too.

Just a thought, That's all :)

I hope they fire them all, and give the jobs to people who want to work hard.. rather than whine and moan that they don't get twice what everybody else in the state makes.. with no education...

Sorry.. but I think we all realize the days of getting $25 for pulling a lever all day, and having no education are over.

You want $25 or more an hour.. get a degree and get a real job.

"Earn what they are paid" Do you feel it's ok for a CEO to get Millions in compensation...based on the company performance, then less than a year later tell your hourly workers their pay is going to be slashed in half?? How abot the CEO that ws working for Home Depot and left with how many millions in severance??? Lead by example....cut mine money 50%..I expect the boss to do the same...to me that is fair...right?? The hourly worker is supplied the job, the tools, the instruction, the guidance from management....yet the hourly worker gets the blame for the company not doing well..and the upper management gets a reward..reguardless..sounds fair to you ??
