Matthew was a great man, husband, father and son. These two murderers stole Matthew and Steve away from their families, friends and coworkers. Matthew has two little babies, my grandbabies, Matthew Jr (2) and McKayla (1) that will not remember their loving "daddy" thanks to these thugs! Matt's loving wife, Jamie, will never again get to share with "Daddy" the joy, excitement, the wonder of watching these babies grow. Matthew was our only child; we feel so alone. Jamie has lost the love of her life and is now faced with the extreme sadness of raising two little ones alone. Why? For a 1995 old, messed up Crown Vic and $2.00. We still expect our son to come in the door and he never will again. Thank God that Matthew knew and LOVED the Lord. He would not come back now if he could!! Jesus is our only hope. We will see our beloved Matthew again soon!! If you can help Matthew's family out in any way, please do so. There is an account set up (Matthew Butler Memorial Fund) for the children at Washington Mutual Bank as well. Thank you for your support and prayers!! God Bless You and Yours!!!

I was reading bout a man that wanted to propose to his fiancee during a half-time commercial during the Superbowl. He raised over $75,000 toward his 2.5 million goal in just two weeks. He never reached his goal but raised over $ 95,000.
So I was thinking why would it be so hard for people to reach into their pockets to help my nephews family and as a society we should all help the family of a hardworking 28 year old man who worked so hard to own his own business, that because he put every hard earned dollar into his dream that he couldn't yet afford to buy a house or have the luxury of having life insurance.Aren't we at some level as a society responsible for creating the two men that took a father from two babies that relied on their father for food and shelter. It is not my intention to play a guilt card, only if people would give from their hearts, rather than it being pulled from paychecks to support fatherless children we would be better off as a society. The 19 year old boys that took his life stated they grew up in hell, probably without a father in their life.Stop and think, this could have been your son, husband or loved one.Not in a million years would I believe this could happen to Matt.A great Cristian man that donated his spare time to people in need is so many ways.RIP Matthew, and rest assured that your children will be taken care of.

Yes it was a very unecessary tragedy, just awful. Have the mother apply for welfare like all the Mexicans in Texas do or why dont you file a civil suit on behalf of the kids against the men that did this and see if you can get anything? Too bad he didn't invest in some life insurance and made that a priority before his studio. Anyway, if you believe there is a god, he will give you everything you need and if he dont then you really have to wonder is there really a god.

You are right! God does provide our every need and many times it's by moving on the hearts of people that AT LEAST HAVE A HEART!! May God Bless You and protect you and your family from ever having such a horrible tragedy happen in any of your lives. I can't imagine being related to anyone so mean spirited.

All Im saying is go after the people that committed this horrendous crime. I would not wish what happened on anyone, however, everyone struggles and goes through some sort of loss of someone they loved but cannot expect others to foot the bills and help with money issues on something they should have already had in place just in case. I lost my mother but never expected anyone to help out financially.

This world lost a beautiful soul and Heaven gained one.I am sorry about your loss. All I am saying is the world needs people to be gracious and nice to others,we need more acts of kindness.I know this world is full of evil, but just one random act of kindness might put a smile on someones face, and the world would be a better place. Why is it only during the Chritmas season do we say Peace on Earth and Good Will to men.Again thank you for your comment and peace to all.

Dear Just Wondering,
Thank you for your comment.... First of all I want to say may God Bless you, and may you find peace in Jesus Christ one day soon. As you know, there is one certainty here on earth... everyone is appointed a time to die. Although we know this is an absolute truth, the pain of the reality is all the more evident when we experience the loss of a loved one.
The thought of filing suit against these guys has crossed my mind, but you need money for legal fees and if the defendants don't have any money to pay, and they are already in jail, so we won't get anything. Are you an attorney wiling to work the case for free?
Kind regards
Jamie

Dear Just Wondering: You don't know anything about Matthew...did it ever cross your mind that he may have had an chronic illness that prohibited him from getting life insurance? This young man was an overcomer; he worked very hard to provide for his family. He worked very hard at helping others in need, sharing Jesus with those that needed salvation so desperately, and he always put others before himself. And, I hope that you understand there is a HUGE difference in losing your mom and Matthew being stolen away from his family in a senseless murder leaving a wife and two little babies behind. These losers don't have any money - why would Jamie sue them? Thank God that there are generous, kind people in this world that, like Matthew Butler, see a need and are more than willing to help out. I've heard that giving is good for the soul... you may want to try it yourself. Maybe you could come up with a dollar or two to give to some homeless person who is hungry. Oh, but then again, we shouldn't have to do that. They shouldn't expect any help from us. They should just go get a job, a nice apartment and a car so they can do for themselves. Hmmmm...maybe they have some limitations that prohibit them from doing this and that's why they ended up on the streets in the first place. Read 1 Corinthians 13 if you have a Bible.

Dear Barb - Like I said there is assistance through the government all they have to do is apply, also the wife and kids will receive a monthly social security stipend. Most importantly, there is NO difference to the loss I experienced as my mom was senselessly murdered ALSO leaving behind two kids. Did we expect any handouts, no that is tacky.

Nobody expects anything. The memorial fund was originally set up as in lieu of flowers.Like in lieu of flowers please donate to the Cancer Society or the Fund for Animals etc.People that set them up were people who care.I only hoped that people also cared enough to help you out in the tragedy of your moms murder. If not, that is sad.I am so sorry that you had to experience a tragedy such as a violent crime. My heart goes out to you. When you experience a tragic loss such as murder you get a sense of kinship with another family that has also experienced such a loss. It's not like watching 48hrs or another show and not really being able to be empathetic with the family.Believe me NOW I KNOW.I feel so bad that I even wrote the first response,I was not meaning to come across tacky. If I did I apologize mostly to Jamie and the babies and to you for offending you somehow.Sorry that wasn't my intention,it was only to help.
