Was it dark out? Helmets? Rush hour? This article doesn't tell enough.

Well considering it was Sunday - my guess is it wasn't rush hour - why are helmets an issue - they rear ended a mini van - helmets wouldn't have saved their life either way - let me guess you don't ride and are just morbid

My guess would be that you don't ride either, seeing as though you assume a fatality just because a bike rear-ended a minivan. Let me guess, you just started riding this year, and you're an expert on car-bike collisions.

Yes they did have helmets on! I was there and saw it. The traffic wasn't heavy at all. I have a bike of my own and that really was something else to see. My heart goes out to there families.

Start paying attention to the ages of the fatalities. They are nearly always older. I don't think grandpa should be riding anymore. Sad but true

They were 54 and 63. Give me a break. You and I don't know the circumstances, but he was probably a safer driver than most. I hope someone reminds you at 63, to go sit in the house, you're too old to drive.

according to mcn, 70% of helmeted riders still suffer head injuries during mc accidents. When anybody rear ends someone else, in any type of vehicle, it is lack of control/attention on the the offending vehicle's part. It is a sad story and my heart goes out to the family. Pilots of all motor vehicles must remain attentive, in control and work on their skill sets, because this does happen in a blink of an eye, literally.

Morbid? I was just asking for details, which were lacking in the article. Trying to understand why this fender bender accident occurred. Yes, a fender bender--had it been two similar vehicles.

Did I say helmets save lives? No, just asked if they were wearing them. Maybe the sun glarred on his face mask!!

Motocycles are dangerous, that is the lure for many ...

I see way more young riders doing dangerous things than I see the more "mature" drivers doing. As to cycles being dangerous...so is crossing the street these days. As to helmets...it's a personal choice, and should remain so. Helmets DO NOT stop riders from getting ionjured. In fact, I know of a rider who was in an accident where the helmet itself caused his death.

Daily Horoscope for December 11

Libra

If someone owes you money and you're beginning to think that you'll never get it back, this is an excellent day to chase them up. They may not cave in straightaway but at least you'll have had your say and done what you can. Watch out for a tendency to lose your temper, because although this could be quite dramatic if you're usually the soul of equanimity it could work against you if you become aggressive or unpleasant.
