Victim impact statements from Alvin Wilkerson's sentencing

Well i first just wanna say that my heart goes out to the children lost. Cause of those children was my biological niece, she was the second youngest who passed : Heaven Lee was her name.. i just wanna say that all these children will be missed but there areso many ways that this could've been avoided and i hate the fact that there was nothing done to stop it... i love you Heaven with all my heart... i think about you everyday of my life... you are forever missed... RIP my lil angel.. LOVE AUNT LISA
p.s. your biological father will miss you forever and will see you in his heart for he could never see you in person.

My hearth goes out to the family of all those children who lost their lives due to the stupidity of a truck driver!! I hate to say it but I am a truck driver myself. I remember when this accident occured and it was the talk of the CB no matter where you were!!! I know personally I do not and will not drive when tired!!! I know when to pull over and lay it down!! I always tell all the dispatchers that their frieght isn't worth my life or the innocent families!!! I always remind them "you can buy a new truck, you can put a new driver in that truck, you can buy that customer their half million dollar frieght but you can't buy my life or an innocent person's life back so u better find some other driver to come get this load if you want it there that quick! Sometimes when the dispatchers tell me the frieght is hot I always say "well you better call the fire department to put it out, cuz if its that hot I am not hauling it!"

I mean I am truly sorry! Honestly, I don't feel one ounce of pitty for that truck driver!! He should have known better!! I mean in all honesty he knew that he was only legally allowed to driver 11 hours! I can assure you that if someone asked if what would he do if some truck driver fell asleep at the wheel and killed his wife and kids that he would say he would go find that person and kill them hisself. That seems to be the response I get from alot of truck drivers on the CB when I say that... And I come back with well don't u think the next person feels the same dang way you do... Then pull over and lay down!!!
