My fiancee and I are moving to Wooster from MI. in a few months and was wondering what kind of things there are to do? We love the outdoors and knocking down a few brews. Any type of bar scene--pubs, taverns etc.?

There are lots of outdoor tails, bike trails, Mohican is close by (canoe, horses, hiking, etc). There are bike lanes going in around town and there are some great rails-to-trails close by that are paved.

As far as bars, there is Seattles downtown on the square which has live music most nights (always on weekends) which is a coffee shop & bar. CW's is more of a pub and resturant (with Tj's and Melvin's upstairs). The Old Jaol is another pub/ resturant which usually has sports playing. All three have a pretty good beer selection. There's also El Camp which is Mexican with a bar... most of the typical chains on the North end of town (Applebees, Lone Star, BW-3s, etc)

Wooster has lots of good eats for a town its size. Try out South Market Bistro and Broken Rock Cafe for some amazing food....

The College of Wooster has good lecture and cultural series which are usually free and open tot he public. OSU's agricultural center is at the far end of town- great arboreteum - also has a fair number of events.

During the summer the city seems to have about a concert or festival each month- Jazz Fest, Javapoloza, Woosterfest...

Hope you enjoy your new home!

Depending on the type of bar scene you're looking for you have a few other choices then the ones that Tandem suggested. 3 Amigos is a Mexican restaurant/ bar with live entertainment on friday and saturday nights, the food is really good. I do lunch there on a regular basis. There is also a club in the north end of town called Infinity that caters to more of the college crowd. Hope this helps you out a little more.

To be honest, you would be setting yourself up for a HUGE let down by moving here.. I have lived in Wooster for 13 years, and am eager for things to pick up and take off so my family and I can do the same...

You may be better off going towards Akron or Mansfield before you ruin your life in Wooster.. Just my thoughts though, good luck in whatever you do!

I'm originally from the Detroit area and I live in Wooster.:)

I like it just fine here, but there aren't that many jobs. Thankfully my husband has a good job here in town.

Daily Horoscope for December 11

Virgo

This is not a day for sitting still if you can possibly avoid it because it will be a fast track to bad temper and sharp-tongued outbursts. Have plenty of short breaks, go for lots of walks or work up a sweat in the gym in your lunch-hour. If you're driving, keep an eye on the speedometer because it will be very tempting to go too fast and you'll be furious if you're caught.
