If you read the lower half of that page it shows 2 days with .5" or more of snow and 1 day with 1.0" or more of snow in April 2003. Also remember, you are looking at stats prepared by people well known for screwing up weather forecasts and reports.

This newer form is harder to read than the older ones. These charts only go back to 1986. It looks like and M for entry on April 5th and 6th under snow. Wonder if that means minimal or something to that effect?

BTW, I've been places and had a few flakes of snow, but nothing that was measured at a forecasting center and reported by weathermen. I could imagine even if small amounts of snow came down you would be agitated about getting it on furniture and boxes because your stuff could get ruined!

Ummm...that's liquid precipitation...not snow! Also to the other poster...M under snow stands for missing, meaning only that the observer at the airport forgot to put in 0...happens all the time even in July. Obviously looking at the temps on all days with precip, it was never cold enough for accumulating snow.

Also I won't stoop so low as to slam your livlihood as you just did so many others who try to protect people. Why not just get over it, instead of choosing to ignore facts to further your claims of big Tulsa snows in April that the facts show never occurred. Just like all those people crying "we had no warning" after the tornado hit that was warned for an hour in advance. They don't want to face facts either. Or the ones who scream tornado every time something at their home blows over, no matter how obvious it is that it was straight line winds. These people all refuse to face facts...just like you.

I don't even get what the big deal is. You tried to refute my claim that this was the latest big snow in Tulsa recorded weather history based on your memory. I, and other I work with who contributed to the Tulsa World story, proved you wrong with FACTS, and you can't handle that. Time to let it go buddy. If it snows 4 inches next week, it'll be the 1st time ever in April it even snowed 2 inches here since at least the 1800's (as far back as records go). I don't give a you know what if you want to accept that or not, but it is a cold hard fact!

Since you brought up livelyhood....let me point out that my work is very much dependent on the weather. Therefore I watch it like a hawk. If there is snow/ice on the ground or it is too wet, I obviously can't work. I document every day I can't work because of weather or any other reason throughout the year, along with the reason we didn't work.

My records are enough to satisfy my accountants and the IRS on this, and they clearly show 2 days missed in April 2003 due to snow!

Should I have the IRS look into this? Guess where they'll get their official certified weather info from?

Seriously though, I wouldn't do that.

Accurate weather records are essential though to many, and we have many measures, checks, and double checks to ensure everything is accurate. I'm one of the biggest sticklers here for accuracy. You may not want to believe our data is accurate, but it's good enough for insurance companies, District and Federal courtrooms, climatologists, all the global warming proponents and opponents, etc.

If you want to believe you had 4 inches of snow in April 2003, then go ahead and believe it. It's not going to change all the media articles that come out proclaiming record April snows whenever we do finally get a 2 inch April snow some year...no doubt it will happen sometime...whether it is my lifetime or not, I cannot say.

I'm done here. You want the most accurate weather forecast around, I can give it to you. Just let me know when you need it. I can even give you a confidence level on the forecast. That may eventually become the future of weather forecasting anyway. I really have no animosity towards you.

I like you both better when you are getting along.:-) Peace out.

And for that weather forecast - just let us know when a tornado is coming. lol

Actually catfish are more predator than bottom feeder. If you don't believe me just talk to a shad or perch. As for farm-raised, those are fish that live in over-crowded ponds filled with fish excrement and fertlizer run-off. Wild caught are actually better for your health. Just cut out the dark and yellow meat and they will taste great.

Noodles--I know that you can keep 6/day at lower Illinois. You can look up on Oklahoma fish and game website (google). There are a lot of rules in a lot of the trout fishing areas in Oklahoma, and I can't remember them all till I get to where I am going. I mostly do catch and release.

Daily Horoscope for December 11

Gemini

Beware of taking on too much because it will be an effort to get through it all. You might even have to give up the unequal struggle, which won't do much for your ego or your reputation. Be especially careful about this if you're at work because a certain person may try to take advantage of what they see as your weakness or failure to deliver the goods.
