Would-be prankster shot by homeowner

Jerry Sweat is a total psycho. The gut is the town drunk. He should be put in prision for what he did. There are some loose screws in his head.

How could they let this guy out on bond? He meant to kill someone. The guy is nuts!

I feel sorry for Pat. Most of the teachers at the high school have said he got what he deserved. I think these educators should be suspended. Sweat is gulity and he is lucky he didn't kill anyone. I hope he gets 30 yrs in prison.

OMG, first off to the 3 of you who posted the previous comments SWEAT isn't a psyco, nor is he the town drunk, he doesn't have any loose screws in his head, he wasn't out to kill and he won't get 30 years in prison! Put yourself in the same situation. You'd probably do the same thing if you saw two bodies at 3:30am going through your truck. You just don't have the balls to admit it. The reason why you are putting SWEAT as the victim is b/c it was a 17 year old boy. They were going to play a prank...right! Whose house were they going to TP, little red ridding hoods grandma's house in the woods? There house is nowhere close to another house. It's in the woods!! It's a BIG LIE! The two boys had a plan that night and it wasn't to toilet paper a house, and now they are telling a LIE to get out of it. The two boys are nothing but trouble. SWEAT was protecting his house, his family and property. Can't the boys read the sign that says no trespassing? SWEAT isn't the victim! He wasn't out at 3:30am causing trouble. I'd do the same thing if I was in SWEAT's situation. He was protecting himself, and his family. The boy got what he deserved.

Thank god my parent rasied me right. And can say there proud of me at anytime..I can say no ones saying my perants are bad parents! WHY??? BECAUSE THEY DID THERE JOB AND RAISED ME.
WHAT CAN WE SAY THE ABOUT THERE 3 BOYS OR THERE PARENTS? Someone didn't do there job. So the boys are naughty. I THINK THE HOLE FAMILY SHOULD BE INTROULBE. Sweat should sue the kids and parents for what they put him and his family throw!!! All Sweat was doing is protecting his family.

If I had been awakened by someone messing around by my property that early in the morning I would have done the same thing. I applaud the man for protecting his property. If you give an adequate warning and someone hangs around, then they deserve to be shot. It's called a Homestead Act.

I respect Jerry and his family and have known them for years. They have been very generous to me and I Thank them for that. They have my support in this situation. Anybody messing around with anothers property in the middle of the night is just asking for trouble. Anybody who would not try to defend his family, (they have a 2yr old daughter)is a downright liar or coward, or probably both.These guys are headed in the direction to be professional criminals and one man had the guts to stand up too them. Faced in the middle of the night on your own property not knowing how many people are lurking around, in a time when home invasions are becoming more prevelant, is probably a very stressful time, and yes, mistakes may have been made. But this homeowner hasn't had formal protection training, so one should understand that a criminal permeditated act was not committed here. Guys are lucky I wasn't aiming at em.....I'm a really good shot, and my rottweiler probably would've gotten to one of em and torn him up........just saying to the young un's out there...careful whos stuff you're messing with, it might be mine

Go look at these boys at the courthouse. You won't find anything on them. The only history you know is what you read in the northwest herald paper. Those reporters are no smarter then a bundle of drift wood. Go look up up Jerry and see his record. His past time is with himself and Rosy Palm and neighbors. This guy is a mental case.

There are basic common sense rules of life, and like, you, I was raised properly in regards to respect and being a good person. It is so sad what people have to go through to protect their families. This mans property was violated, the bad people should have consequences for that. If they weren't there causing trouble or stealing, they wouldn't of been shot at. RESPECT YOUR NEIGHBOR AND STAY OFF of anothers persons property unless you have permission!
