Ok, I've been a Bolingbrook resident for over 10 years and Roger has done a great job as a whole, but 2007-2008 has been a very bad year for Bolingbrook and I;m starting to see a very bad trend forming. It's pretty obvious the whole handling of the Peterson case has been a joke. It's obvious he had people in the department and other high up places covering stuff up for him and assuming he was a good old guy instead of doing their job. My main problem is the overall feeling of the town. Bolingbrook used to be a small, but safe family friendly town to grow up in. I know the Beackonridge area was always a bad place to be around, but it seems the town as a whole now is going downhill fast. Lots of single parent gangbangers (aka POOR BLACK PEOPLE) are moving in from the city, with nothing better to do than to cause trouble. We're seeing more and more headlines like the kids sticking up people in their cars. Excuse me, but how often did this happen 10 years ago? Is it just me or is it getting much worse lately? Anyways, it's time for the Mayor to start knocking down these low income housing units and start bringing in higher income people. You think people are going to continue shopping at the new mall if they feel their safety is at risk? Oh yeah, and lets not forget about the new high school. Tell me if I'm wrong, but I thought I heard the grades are going down the tubes so fast that the government is no longer giving us money like they normally did...??? Dunno, but I do know there's been several gang fights on campus. What do you guys think? Is this town going downhill?

I agree. I grew up there from 1st. grade till I graduated . I now live in Romeoville. My mother just moved out here a year ago from BB. You're right, it's getting out of control. every town has a bad side, beaconridge was theirs, notice I said was. now it seems everywhere is getting bad. the sad thing is, Bolingbrook always appeared so beautiful to me...now it's become very ugly.

People must have selective memories because as a teenager many years ago, Bolingbrook was very much thought of as a "gang-banger" town. I remember the days of going to crazy rock and then hanging out at white castle in Bolingbrook or going to the parties at the clubhouse next to Jewels on Boughton. Many fights and selling drugs happening. How soon we forget I guess. Bolingbrook has come such a long way since then and if you don't see that, then your eyes are only looking for the bad. Every town has the same crime eliments going on, except Bolingbrook is the "hot" name for the media to sell news at this time.

And the comment about the "overall feeling" about Bolingbrook makes me laugh because if you look at a diversified view of Bolingbrook, then the "overall feeling" would be that this is a good, up and coming community with many good things happening. If you take a narrow minded approach in looking at Bolingbrook, many people do not like the diversity that this city brings because everyone is not the same color or ethnic background. Then those people say that the "beauty" has left Bolingbrook but in reality the beauty of diversity is making our city one that many people can be proud of because we can coexist as a community and have our kids understand that we all are part of this Beautiful Town.

Does Mayor Claar really give a Sh**?? I think not, in fact I don't think he's ever really cared much, he's a true piece of work IMO. Connect the dots between Claar and Peterson...wonder what you'd find. Corruption, bribes and NO good liars. These are only my opinions, everyone has one!

Read this article: http://www.chicagotribune.com/news/local/chi-... "In the matter of the robberies, McGury said he asked Claar for direction after the first incident on Feb. 22. He never heard back. When another robbery occurred Feb. 29, McGury said police sent Claar a news release and again did not hear back from him. McGury decided to issue the news release on March 1." Sounds like Bolingbrook is being run by a dictator... When is Bush going to invade Bolingbrook?

Spot on John, Roger needs to wake the hell up...but again my opinion, he does not care. He's built his golf course/country club and up scale shopping, why care about the single parents or respectable residents that are seeing BAD changes each and every day. There are more gangs and fights and decline of grades in BB schools!!! Wake up, NOBODY but the poor and gangs will live here soon, why shop at an upper scale mall while fearing crime?? I think NOT. Chief McGury...can you help?

It is hard when you have a Mayor that "handcuffs" us, spends more on Beverage Carts for his golf course than he does on our equipment, and over all just doesn't care. But we can't overlook the fact it is the RESIDENTS that keep re-electing him.

It's hard to run a village when the clerk is busy selling/giving away bumper stickers, on village time, instead of aiding her Mayor.

Well John, to answer your questions: What do you guys think? Is this town going downhill? This is what happens to a town that has a Mayor that would rather build fancy shopping malls, than pay for proper equipment in the Police Department. It is also thanks to Mayor Daley and his regentrification of the projects. Where do you think those thugs went? They were dispersed into the suburbs. Yep, Bolingbrook has their share too. People want change? STOP VOTING FOR THE GUY. Plain and simple. People of BBrook, you have a voice - DON'T RE-ELECT him.

How do you get someone to even try and take on this role as mayor of Bolingbrook? Now with all the other controversy swarming around Bolingbrook it might be even more difficult in 2009? To copper's reply, it is just so sad that $ are higher for golf cart equipment than what is needed to properly do their jobs!! I am a big advocate for Chief McGury BTW.

Why hasn't Claar ever appeared on TV in connection to the Peterson case? I heard he & Drew are still good buddies! Maybe that is why!

Strangely silent, isn't he, your mayor. No support shown for the families of Kathleen Savio and Stacy Cales Peterson. Nothin'. ..but he was able to comment by return email on Easter Sunday to a complete stranger from Europe. You poor people...looks like you've got some cleaning up to do.

When a person goes missing does the mayor typically make a statement regarding an on-going investigation. I think not. Also, the village clerk is a FSP committee member. She's giving away the Find Stac(e)y stickers from the village, after being told she could not sell them on village time.

I wonder what the mayor's stance is on the fact that Stacy, a minor, was working for the village police department, while dating/having sex with a MARRIED police officer, ie Drew Peterson....(he did after all, get her pregnant...and EVERYONE knew about it, hence the anon. letter to K. Savio....) How is it that the mayor did not confront the acting police chief and Drew and ask them about this? Selling stickers on village time is the least of his worries... I suppose that was just an 'oversight', right? If you don't stand for something, you don't stand at all.... The mayor has his head in the sand and his ass in the air....makes it easier that way to boot him out the door!

Sammy....I do not have an answer for you.....but what I do know is all of the people that would rather cry about Roger, should instead put their collective minds together anc come up with a plan. Until there are other options, he is not going anywhere. Well that is if the FEDS don't catch up to him. As far as what Carol is doing.....she is a little fish in a big pond. Leave her alone. She has no influence over how that village is run. Who cares how she decides to spend her time ON HER DAYS OFF.
