Insulted sailor: Letters to the Editor for Tuesday, May 6

Re the immigration debate, what part of illegal do people not understand? It's a crime to come here illegally and to be hired -- work on righting things in your own country instead of trying to change ours and want favors and handouts. By the way any legal immigrant who breaks the laws, and is found guilty of any crime including fraud, should be immediately deported and any processing of citizenship papers should be revoked. Of course, citizens who break the law and are found guilty go to jail. Enough already

So when McCain comes in second to either Barrack or Hillary, are we going to have to put him down too, Marcy?

After visiting LA recently, I observed so many changes.

You see, I moved a while back and now live in the South. I don't get back much only about once a year or so, but this last time was an eye opener.

First of all the freeways are filthy. What happened to trash control or people adopting a highway?
Second I think maybe there are more Hispanics now than there were 5 years ago only they aren't as nice as they used to be. The Valley, where I lived for 30 years is a mess. Traffic is heavy and it's dirty.
And third, I noticed the absence of police. Either on the highway patrol or on city streets. What has happened? What does this new glamorous mayor say about these things?.

Los Angeles used to be a first class city but to an outsider it looks trashy. I couldn't wait to get back to the South.
