Ivy Academia charter schools under investigation

I think you are confused between LAUSD and the District attorney's office. Just because they both have the word "District" in their names doesn't mean they're the same entity. Nice try, though.

Sounds like somebody in the Public School establishment doesn't like being embarrassed by these successful charter schools and called in a few favors to get this investigation started.

Soo a previous report complained about "commingling of funds" not sure who that hurts. Personally I think that schools should use whatever funds they have available and spend them wherever they are needed. Rules that restrict where/how funding can be used, especially something as stupid as "you can's spend public money on something if you are also spending private money on it" are some of the biggesr reasons the LAUSD is in the predicament it is.

700 students per campuses. That is 175 students per school. Their class sizes aereage to 14 students per class. They beter be on the top academia. That is even smaller than special ed CBI classes at LAUSD.

There is not any info on what the investigation is about, so jumping to conclusions prematurely just shows your biases

The LAUSD has no enforcement capability but the Los Angeles District Attorney does. It isn't that both have the word district in their names that ties them together it is that the one agency with the power could be acting on behalf of the one that doesn't. That and the District Attorney is an elected official who gets backing and contributions for his campaigns from unions including the Teachers' Union.

The skeptic in me says that this is just too convenient to not question the motifs. If the officials of the schools have done some shady stuff then they are doubly to be condemned for casting a bad image on something that was apparently working, much like Governor Sanford for besmirching the image of conservatives of America. The public will remember and yell loudly about bad behavior and ignore good.

Its about time these people get looked at by the law. They should be shut down.

Just sounds a little heavy handed for a case of "co-mingling" of the funds. If the academy is doing this it needs to be corrected. But it does smack of a smear campaign designed to give the perception of wrongdoing before any has been or could be proven. LAUSD and the Unions would use everythining at their disposal (including political favors) to sully the reputation of these well performing mavericks called charters. It is possible they are doing something wrong, but don't throw the baby out with the bathwater. I have seen the books of district schools and if any time funds were used improperly there was a search warrant the district would seem to be in police state.

How dare anyone expect anything but degrading, dishonorable out comes in Villagairosa's Third World Los Angeles.

Good scores, but you cannot compare APPLES to ORANGES. Only 1% of Ivy's students are English Learners, more than 60% are White and likely from more affluent backgrounds.

You are such a twisted liar. Two independent, longitudinal studies show that in CA and nationwide that charter schools perform equal to or worse than public schools. Shovel your crap elsewhere.
