Councilman Zine loves the project because it will increase tax revenue to the City which is a good thing. As for traffic, his response is always the same,'don't worry about it; we will mitigate traffic problems in the planning process.' How do you mitigate additional thousands of cars every day at the intersection of Victory Blvd and Topagna Canyon? Look at the existing congestion on Vanowen behind Topanga Plaza every Saturday and Sunday. Has Councilman Zine ever seen a real estate development which he did not Immediately fall in love with?

Zine conceded there could be community opposition to building one of the popular stores at what is already a busy intersection.

"I think one of the concerns would be traffic, but there is nothing we can't mitigate," he said.
----------

They can't even "mitigate" the existing traffic problem in the area!

tumbing around costco stores in the valley isn't going get any more taxes for the city, just that costco want to close the canoga store as it will become another anchor store for the bankrupt westfield plaza...

I think that is not the best area for a Costco. If you want to keep the integrity of the area. That area should be used for higher end stores and eatery. It could be built up with the apts and condos with art galleries and boutiques. woodland hills/west hills / Chatsworth are more upscale then let say Canoga Park. Costco's bring traffice and trash, I see people littering all the time at Costco. Build it somewhere else as a stand alone. The holidays would be aweful I would not shop there if there was a Costco incorporated with the Malls, It is bad enough we have to deal with target!

I am tired waiting at least seven minutes for the light at Victory and Topanga Cyn Blvd. It could become a 15 minute light. How many times I had to jump out of the way from merging cars coming from Westfield and Coco's parking lots speeding to get onto Victory. Topanga and Victory traffic is backed up to Owensmouth at 4:00 pm - 7:00 pm.
Dennis Zine was elected to take care of the taxpayers in the 3rd District. Number one importance is traffic control and he says it can be taken card of but that is not what has happened from previous development. He can't take care of it. Dennis do not insult our intelligence. Cosco development would be a train wreck ready to happen. Employment is limited to maybe 75 employees and the building development would probably come from immigrant workers so that's not the reason to build. Creating tax money for the city is good but the city council would just waste it like they have been doing. We all know you just want to keep Westfield in your corner for the donations given to you for all your charities. This time think of the taxpayers and their quality of life in the 3rd district. Don’t let Cosco further back up traffic on Owensmouth, Victory and Topanga Canyon Blvds. Westfield Properties do not rule the 3rd district the family taxpayers do.

What a huge mistake this would be. And there is already a Costco on Roscoe at Canoga Avenue. Yes, it is in Little Tijuana but oh well. Topanga Canyon Blvd. is a mess as it is, don't make conditions any worse.

Yes. It is ridiculous to put another Costco so near the one on Roscoe. Plus, Warner Center is more upscale than this. Let's get something with more class.

And on the traffic, I have already abandoned Topanga for Owensmouth or Shoup.

We all need vendors of giant-size multi-family packs of sugary cereals and supersized barrels of fructose-flavored fructose on every block. Please open soon, Costco #5,097!

LOL - right on!! People complain about EVERYTHING/ANYTHING! They're so selfish. Think about all the jobs this will create for other people. But, noooooo. You don't want a "low class" Costco in your area.......oh my, and all the traffic this will create -- blah, blah, boo-hoo!!!!

Costco needs more information clerks around the store.
I cannot find some items, so Costco loses my sale, which could be
big. Hard to get information -nobody seems to be around.

To say nothing of Walmart at the Fallbrook mall! I go there for one item and one item only! I run in and run out. I honestly feel like I'm in a third world country. Oh yeah I am!! And if they close the Canoga Park store, do you think all those people will go to Pacoima???Heck no!! The hole thing makes me sick and call me a racist, that's OK. I just know that Los Angeles being the wonderful multiracial international city that is..has become 99% third world..........prove me wrong!

You are a jerk! Get lost (a)sshole! Try living here like we do. This may not be BH, but what we are trying to do is simply save a little portion of the Valley to remain like it was...NICE!! Not like the stinking third world city like most of the rest of Los Angeles has become.
Don't worry numbnuts, we can handle our own tears..sure don't need you, your brilliant thought and total lack of ideas! So long!

So I can bet you don't win often on poker huh? Your face is an open book! It tells us you are an idiot! Do you live anywhere near here? Have you ever tired to get across one of these main streets? Until you do, just keep your stupid thoughts to your self.

I like how they say the city could handle 12 costco's. No need to put them all in the valley.

Hiring more people would increase their cost and would result in higher prices, no thanks I'll find things on my own.

Daily Horoscope for December 23

Pisces

Someone is in a very boisterous mood today, and you may want to make yourself scarce after a short spell in their company. Their idea of a joke may be your idea of extreme rudeness, or they could take pleasure in being argumentative just for the sake of it. Don't let this person wind you up or you'll go off pop through sheer tension.
