I feel so much anger towards Mel the victim and his family gave so much to him. Yes I know of some underlying issues but the guy called the Police to report his crime so he knew he was wrong

Who ever wrote this is a flaming idiot! You dont know what you are talking about and attacking a murder victim is lower than low. Have you noticed the difference in size between these two men? Was Mel stabbed? Noooo... Dont get confused as to who the agressor was and who the true victim is!

How is it self defense when the murderer drags the victim back into the house? He only did that to say it was self defense. If he would've continued stabbing Andrew in the front yard, he couldn't use self defense as a defense. I'm sick and tired of hearing that these murderers aren't violent people ~ hello, they MURDERED someone! That is VIOLENT!!! You're right that not everything is played out in the media, but the fact that Mel murdered Andrew is a very REAL fact .... And he will pay for his crime.

Get your facts straight. Don't just go by what Melvin is telling you. Look at the photos of him being arrested. Not a scratch on him. That blood he is covered with is Keith's. There are no signs of any violent fight. Mel would have some signs like ripped shirt, scratches on face arms and there is nothing. Keith was dealing with his addictions and was on methadone. Keith posted a pic on his myspace of Melvin's ass after he shot dope and you see it all bruised up from his constant use. Keith was on methadone at the time. Melvin has the past PUBLIC police record of burglary and transporting meth. I hardly think Keith was making him steal. Look at Melvin's size Keith weighed 150lbs. and maybe 5'7". SO WHOEVER 'LET IT GO' is "NICE TRY DUDE BUT NO!" THE PHYSICAL FACTS STAND FOR THEMSELVES AND YOUR HEARSAY IS INVALID.

**** you said everything that I was thinking, you are right on. Also, anyone who knows Keith would agree that he would never attack someone with a knife, he was not a violent person. It's pretty obvious that Melvin is trying to cover up the facts. The evidence of the crime scene will speak for itself.

It will all be made clear during the trial and of course the facts will also support the evidence. A man was killed rather it was as a result of a fight or defense, but I still believe that he was using heroin and there is nothing to support that Melvin was using drugs. I can't go by what someone put on there myspace page. According to the on going investigation neither of these people involved were violent people at the time of this crime. Maybe drugs played a role in this case. You say that Andrew was on methadone, well it goes without saying that you just confirmed that he was in fact a heroin addict. It really doesn't matter at this point he's dead and may he rest in peace. I don't know if defending either person will make this go away anytime soon.

Melvin is in jail and facing this like a man. He understands the extent of the crime and will accept and face the punishment. He's not a coward. He has admitted to wrong doing, and is not avoiding this.

Our laws permit the defense of self and others. One of the primary issues will be - was it (the self defense) reasonable? There will be several other issues to take into consideration as well; only one of which may be the size of the decedent and the defendant. What is also true in these cases is whether or not the initial aggressor became the victim and the original victim turned out to be the aggressor, in the end. We cannot tell from pictures [taken at a distance] if the accused was injured even in a superficial way (markings may be underneathed clothed areas). Since we were not directly involved, or did not witness the crime, we don't really know. That is where the police , witnesses, evidence, and the prosecution come in and where conjecture and rumor goes out...

This is another example of failed leadership at our police department. The community has no confidence in Sullivan. Sullivan lacks any redeeming leadership qualities.

He is rather good at kissing the city counsels backside which ensures the community will be stuck with rising crime rates and poor service.
