The most poorly managed hospital ever. Look deeper and I'm sure you'll find it riddled with corruption...and misappropriation of funds. Building that useless addition when you're broke? Can someone say kickback? Good riddance, it was about time.

To answer Michael, I've heard a couple months or end of year/
To About time - Something has been miserably wrong the past 3 years - since the "turnaround" consultants from Cambio came in they outsourced services, volume was reduced in half, and it lost the spirit it had before the financial screw-ups in '05- by the way they kept the Finance team intact. They didn't bring in any outside help except a CEO let go by UMDNJ who was coasting on a 700K severance. The other person they brought in outsourced billing then took a job with that company - something stinks - the docs pushed for change, but they didn't know what they were going to get and they brought down pretty decent place and hurt many, many people.

Thanks for the info Rose. Sounds lousy. I'm sorry to see it go. Valley in Rwood is not the best and it was nice having the security of a hospital close to my neighborhood. Maybe some real estate deal in the making?

The real estate market is so terrible now, can't see any development. What happens when docs move offices to Englewood, Ridgewood, and Hackensack? What will happen to that office building market value? Don't think you'll see retail there because that will kill the downtown. MAYBE Hackensack will make a move when they can buy the assets at a small percentage of the value and when they don't have to deal with PVH's union anymore. That was always the stumbling block - paying full price and taking on a Union.

Rose I agree with you. Let's hope for a miracle. I was employed there for over 20-years and was born there and my children were born there. the community needs a hospital. the mis-management of the hospital let down the community and employees who gave there all, but the upper management all left with good packages-

This is quite a sad commentary for the Pascack Valley Community... Another example of financiers doing what they please without thinking of people and the community.. SURE hope someone can come into the picture and consider people first... Enough money wasted and a great facility lost to all of us in the PV area.

I don't think you would feel that way if you were having a stroke or heart attack. The hospital has had issues for years, but it is still vital for the community.

Hospital has no cardiac surgery works with skeleton crew.Did not have the money to hire any extra qualified staff with advanced degrees. The Valley Hospital is excellent hospital only 6 miles away from the Westwood Hospital. The Valley Hospital has won numerous awards and welcomes new patients. Many of the Westwood doctors and surrounding areas are already on staff with The Valley Hospital and more are coming each day.

PVH is a great community hospital. Anyone who lives in the Pascack Valley area will be sorry to see it go if they happen to be in a true emergency. We the people of Pascack Valley need our community hospital if the FAA wants more air space over southern Rockland county and northern Bergen County. This creates a potential disaster from an accident or terrorism, in the air and on the ground. With the hospital closed, who will be the first responders? This is an unacceptable situation. PVA MUST REMAIN OPEN!!!!

I would really like to know what part the unending influx of illegal aliens to the area played in the closing of Pascack Valley Hospital. Is there anyone who has an inkling of the truth of the matter ... or even an idea? Look at California, where some 80 hospital closings are directly linked to the fact that they were overrun by non-U.S. patients who had no medical insurance and either had no intention or means of paying, but by law had to be served by the medical community. We have become a nation of blind fools. What is going to fail next because of what we're allowing to happen? In Westwood, the school taxes alone could choke a stable of horses, but we blithely go along educating the children of people who have no right to be here in the first place. You don't think our own children's education suffers as a consequence? You think we're getting our money's worth? You may not have liked PVH, but having it was better than not. And it's only the beginning, folks, of that you can be sure. Please, wake up and ask questions, then take action.

IM SORRY BUT PVH HAS BEEN AN EXCELLENT HOSPITAL. I WAS BORN THERE, AND IT SAVED MY FATHERS LIFE AFTER A NEAR-FATAL PULMONARY EMBOLISM. FOR THOSE OF YOU WHO SAY THAT YOU WOULD DRIVE AND DRIVE FOR DIFFERENT CARE, LETS SEE IF YOU CAN SURVIVE AFTER A CAR ACCIDENT, OR SOMETHING AS MINOR YET PAINFUL AS A KIDNEY STONE. BY THE TIME YOU GET TO VALLEY OR HACKENSACK, YOU COULD BE DEAD!!! GOOD LUCK TO YOU!!

Why is it that most Americans do not even notice the real problem on why hospitals are closings. Check out California and all other States where illegal immigrants are a huge problem. They are draining the system, they get everything for free so HELLO!!! Is anybody there?? Can you guys wake up and fight for this country that has been invaded by illegal aliens from every single third world country? Knock, knock, wake up!
If Americans would take a good look and fight for this country that which is being stolen right from under our noses, hospitals wouldn't be closing. Our safety is at stake we need to contact congress and push for strict enforcement of our laws, and secured borders....stop the invasion NO AMNESTY AND NO TO THE DREAM ACT WHICH ARE THE SAME. PLEASE!! If anyone would like to know what is really happening watch Lou Dobbs Tonight, or Nel Cavuto and Glenn Beck three shows that will tell you the truth. Also check out our website www.dontspeakforme.org or (NJCIC) New Jersey Citizens for Immigration Control, United Patriots of America and lets fight for this country, fight for New Jersey....watch CNN Lou Dobbs Tonight at 6 pm weekdays..please get the facts. Hospitals in New Jersey are closing mostly due to illegal aliens. In Plainfield, New Jersey every single illegal alien is pregnant, some of them on their 4th child all born here....anchor babies. So I would guess the next Hospital closing might be Mulenberg Hospital in Plainfield New Jersey, unless NJ citizens take control of our state, we are doomed. Strict Laws and the 287G program would be a good beginning to stop illegal aliens.
Thanks WAKE UP AMERICA!!!

I agree with Jeanne - One of the problems is the local Doctors don't send patients to PVH they use Englewood or Hackensack. Big lack of local doctors NOT using PVH.
