Why is it being so difficult to get an event authorized to be held at the new Community Room at the County Complex. There have been a couple of events already held at this facility and more have been scheduled. There are still others who are being told by the secretaries at the County Executive's Office to "call back next week", but next week never comes. Someone needs to be hired for this position who can do the scheduling. Plus, this ad needs to be made public, not decided by the powers that be. Typical for DeKalb County. The tax payers own this facility and should at least have the option to use it!

Unintended consequences of a $5 million project without consideration of what it will cost to maintain and run the new county annex - aka "Fosterwood."

When you spend $100,000.00 on a $40,000.00 pole barn the costs increase proportionally.

Also the walls move when you bump them - walls are supposed to be solid - guess they were trying to save money. And they had to replace a bunch of floor tiles too.

you have to be kidding...they only bobble their heads in the direction Foster indicates....the commissioners are an extension of Foster...HIS approval and ONLY HIS APPROVAL prevails. This needs to stop. But apparently the majority of this county is content with the situation.

Why has there not been a public notice in the local news media regarding the hiring of someone to be the coordinator for both the community room aqt the new County complex as well as the Exercise Room. Will Mr. Foster, the county commission or someone else appoint the person to fill this position? Why the delay?

Will this not require two part-time personnel to be coordinator of both facilities at the County Complex? I agree, what's the delay? Put is in the local newspaper and HIRE SOMEONE. People are waiting to use these facilities without delay.

Because Mike Foster overspent by $2.5 million and DeKalb County is broke?

Without a tax hike there isn't enough money to hire anyone or give the courthouse employees the step-raise they were promised.

Tax Hike Mike Strikes Again!

WJLE:

"Meanwhile, Foster said efforts are underway to get the game room up and running in the new county complex "Most of the equipment has come in for the game room. I met with the people who are going to be putting in the arcade machines and they said they would have their part complete within two weeks. That was last week. The TV's and the games, wii and xboxes, are coming in a little bit each day. We'll be putting them up, trying to have that open within two weeks," he said."

Wow, so now my kid can go to the new county building and play all those violent and sexually explicit video games we REFUSE to allow into our home!

Yesterday I took a tour of the new complex building for the first time. The weightroom didn't have many weights but had lots of cardo equipment and was very nice and clean. The whole building was very impressive and the persons they hired was very friendly. I thought the tennis balls on the chair legs were odd until the gentleman working there told me it was to protect the floor which makes sence. There was about 50 people at an Art Exhibit in the bigger room. So it looked like they were open. I'm from South Florida and in my opion, this is a very nice building and the community should be proud of it.

The rooms in the complex are very, very nice and well equipped. It's the people who control the use of each department that stinks.

Mike Foster builds very nice, first class, high end, high cost buildings.

Wonderful, a very nice building.

But why is DeKalb County competing against private enterprise by building a gym and a gaming room?

Is Mike Foster going to build a restaurant with a lunch and dinner buffet next?

Will Mike Foster apply for a permit to sell liquor by the drink and turn Fosterwood into a full service gambling casino?

Hmmmm.... DeKalb County is flat broke. I guess a Fosterwood casino would bring in a few tax dollars.

You sound like like a sore loser, a very sad and angry person. If you loved this fine county like the most of us who post on here, you would be more positive. Just shut up and take your medications if you can't be positive and constructive. Sick of your negative posts.

My son loves the game room and the workout room is wonderful. I am holding a meeting there soon and had no problem scheduling it. Dekalb county has needed this for a very long time
