Why is it that we as Military members have to be held accountable for our actions in a combat zone, if we acidentaly shoot or injure a non-hostile combatant, we must pay the price, while trying to defend our freedoms.
But in a case where a police officer is attempting to get to a "so called" emergency and collides with another innocent person and cause bodily harm or death he gets off????
Please explain the favorable measures that he is given, and why???

Over the years I lost touch with Shonda and was devistated to hear of this tragedy. However the facts still remain the same regardless. For a minute, think of the zones or areas police officers work in, why would someone travel from Wolcott to Sodus? I appreciate the job that some police officers do, but the younger generation of police officers need to think of the example they are setting for the public. My personal feelings. SORRY WON'T BRING HER BACK. If it was the police officer who lost his wife, daughter or girlfriend I bet you the circumstances would be different. Remember that a badge is a piece of tin, a gun is a piece of steel, a car is a 1 1/2 to 2 ton piece of steel, these can be readily replaced, Shonda can't. Watch the news and look to see that any police officer that gets in to trouble, watch them NEVER ADMIT it was there fault.

Miss You Shonda!

i have been thinkin latley... and maby if you cops wernt so careless maby i would not hate you. but no you have to go and drive your little cars like a little kid was pushing them on the carpet so carefree running in to other cars for fun and wat not. and since the crash i have beat up ever kid who said a "yo mama" "joke" to me. and you know wat the always say as my fist gets imbeded into there face......" HELP SOME ONE CALL THE COPS ' and you know what i say back to them ......."the cops are the reason why im beating you up. they killed my mother so how would they help you???" and then i walk away and i laugh so when you go down the street remember you are little toy cars on the carpet.

Just for full disclosure I went to HS with Shonda I can't say I really knew her well though. I bumped into her probably twice since then and she was just being a mom... and my uncle is a retired police officer, so I have a lil prejudice on both sides of this debate.
I drive by that intersection on my way to my Dad's house probably teice a month and I think of that accident... There is no way in HELL anyone should be driving that fast there 104 has been known in Wayne County as "death ally" since I was little Shonda is not the first person I've known that died on 104... This rode has terrible lighting and lots of little intersections(the kind the state is not willing to put traffic lights on) and of all people the police who travel these roads daily should know that... any idea how much faster the office would have gotten to the scene had he not Killed Shonda? 3 mins? 5?...what the hell yeah a lot can happen in a few short minutes ask Shondas kids, but risking the lives of the people you are to protect isn't an option, and in this case it caused the officer to not make the crime scene at all... so who won? the victim of the initial crime? no the officer didn't make the scene, certianly not Shonda or her family so lets see the cop who gets a paid leave?! sounds like a vacation to me... i don't know just a thought :(
Rest In Peace Shonda God will love your family...
