Interviews for Billerica town manager switched to Nov. 3

I hope the Billerica resident Douglas Meagher is strongly considered for the town manager position. Understanding he is a Billerica resident one can only believe he will try to make Billerica a better community.

yeah let's choose someone who has a family mmember on the town payroll, you must be a hack yourself. Let's choose someone that care's about the whole town, not the 2,000 town employees, and has vision to guide the town for the next five to ten years. NO TOWNIES that is why we are in the mess we are in. The truant officer,mumbles, the ex cop, ma the dry cleaner. Do i need to paint you a picture. All only cared about the union's and the members and gave the middle finger to the rest of the citizen. Which probably means this idiot will get it , When will we learn

I wished there was more than the 3 to consider. The committee could have submitted up to 5 finalists for town manager.

The Screening Committee was full of political hacks and wannabes. I agree they should have submitted 5 candidates but they stacked the deck with only 3. Insured their candidate gets the nod. Curran is a tax and spend liberal. Politically connected and those connections have their puppets on the board that will vote for Curran. It's a done deal. Watch them roll over and justify going with Curran.

grew up with curran you are wrong about tax and spend. BC grad with degree in finance and accounting. Was also a grant writer. so he knows how to get money. His very fiscally conservative and grew in a city that does not votre for overides, water meters or tax iuncreases. IF he is true to form the businesses will bear the burdern Just ask cummings properties in woburn.COty of woburn has had one override vote and that was for a 81 million dollar state of the art high school. Yet they have stil built three elementary scools,and a fourth is about to be started. Same populations., just better fianancial mananagement, visions and long term plans. He also fired two friends for poor perforance. Strongly opinionated. which is why he will not get. Remeber andrew maylor was last committees choice and the three amigos went pro union, guarantee it will be the hacks husband., if that is the case it will only get worse

lastly, from an insider. they had limited apps due the high turnover of the last two managers. Town and boards have a bad rep. not veryt attractive when there are other openings. hence why only three finalist

Let me see now. The Screening Committee voted unanimously for Curran.

Last time I looked the SC was made up of people from all sides of the town.

People that supported Greene and some that supported O'Donnell, so how was the deck stacked?

The last time the Screening Committee recomended a candidate the 3 Amigos picked the number 2 person that lasted what 8 months. That cost the town at least $50,000.00

This is a no brainer, if you care to check the record, Curran was defeated by a Union money guy that had all the unions supporting him. Curran lost because he actually said no to the powers to be.

I just wish the Board of Selectmen would go on vacation for 30 days so the most qualified guy (Curran) would automatically get the job.

Curran was the UNANIMOUS choice are you people STUPID.

This may be our last chance in dacades, to get an honest good professional, don't screw it up!!!

it was not sexual harrasment. He yelled at her and threatened her job and she did not like his tone of voice. More like intimadating and hostile work enviroment Far from damaged goods. Will shake up town hall, and actually hold people accountable. Have already told him what a jack--s the truant officer is. If you want to win people over getr keep far away.
