This is awesome - let's just hope the pigs in EP don't destroy it. Afterall, we can't even keep childrens playgrounds from being torn up or burned to the ground. Everytime we get something nice, the EP piglets want to damage it.

Aren't we broke? aren't we talking about shutting the courthouse down 1 day a week to save money? wouldn't this money be better spent there?

Boy! I could think of a gazillion of other more useful ways to spend this money. I guess it doesnt matter if people are jobless, businesses are closing, people are losing their homes so long as El Paso has something nice to look at. Hummm wonder how much more money our city can waste.

WAY TO GO LARRY MEDINA AND THANKS FOR YOUR CONTRIBUTION AND SERVICE.

ART DEFINITELY "stimulates the imagination" AND "stimulate economic development but also instills pride in El Paso" FOR MANY GENERATIONS TO COME.

"Art stimulates the imagination. I wanted to portray in public works of art for future generations the cultural heroes of the community."

Medina is convinced the program not only helps stimulate economic development but also instills pride in El Paso and its diverse culture.

"I would encourage city officials to nourish that baby," Medina said. "I'm happy with what they've done, but I won't be satisfied until we match, at least Philadelphia, in the numbers of tributes to our past."

Gets your goat everytime.

I learned over the years when someone becomes angry about a statement or comment, it is because it is the truth and that angry person is or wants to be in denial.

Potemkin village, "a political term referring to a false construct intended to hide an undesirable situation."

So Rey are you saying that having beautiful art to look at will make people forget about the high unemployment, foreclosures, high crime and high taxes? If so, then that's money well spent!!

Daily Horoscope for December 24

Capricorn

Take things slowly and all will be well. However, you must resist a tendency to be perfectionist over things that don't really matter, otherwise you'll never finish the chores. If you're busy with Christmas preparations, you'll have to control a nagging feeling that you've got to compete with the way other people have done things in the past.
