When Primal first came to town my daughter was excited about having SOMETHING to do in South Lyon. I checked it out and it seem to be on the up and up. I joined their web site to keep up with what was going on with the club. I allowed my daughter to go a few times. The ages are 14-20. There is my first problem. A 20 year old has no reason for being in a 'Teen' club. I feel like that is asking for trouble. I got an email from Primal advertising their 'Spring Break Bikini contest' and a 'Foam party' I was so disgusted at the ad. What mother or father would allow their daughters to enter such a contest? I think it should be outlawed. To me that is exploiting a minor. And then there is the foam party...you may as well allow your teen daughter to enter a wet T-shirt contest or roll around in a bubble bath with 50 boys. What is this teaching our kids? I researched South Lyon for months before I decided to move here. I fell in love with this town. I feel like this is my hometown. How can we as parents allow a business that exploits our children remain here? What can we do to fight this demoralizing 'Teen' Club?

I guess my gut feelings about the place were right. When I heard that the age group invited to attend the place was 15-19 I knew then there would be problems. I heard that they sell "shots" of energy drinks there as well. To me that is too much like selling alchohal. Kids will get the idea that "shots" are cool. Bad idea for South Lyon to approve this type of business

Thanks for the info, I was checking into the place deciding whether to continue to allow my daughter to go there and I can say she won't be attending again.

Its better than having teens roaming the streets, and whats the big deal about having energy shots? they give shots of expresso at coffee houses. So does that mean we should close them down too? I'd rather have my daughter dancing her butt off getting good exercise at a teen club, rather than letting her sit at home in front of a tv, video games, or a computer. As for the bikini contest BIG DEAL! you do let your children go to the beach dont you? and its not like there isnt anybody over 18 there. Its parents like you that knit pick everything, and thats why our teens have no place to go. Parents have different opinions and thats fine, so send your children to church and leave the other parents childrens' hangout places alone. I dont need you to fight to protect my child from any place. This is america, you make your decisions for your child and I'll make mine for my own.

Hey "Parent", you live in DAVISON.. I don't think your perfect kid goes there anyway. This is nothing more than a training ground for future sluts, strippers, date rapists, drunk drivers, drug dealers & users. This is not a place to send your kids for quality social life.. ever heard of sports, or playing music? There are other activities your kids can participate in. Or better yet, try putting your kid to work!

ya'll need to calm down. Your kid isnt going to start drinking or doing drugs because he/she goes to primal. At some point your kid makes their own decisions on what they want to do. If they want to do drugs or drink thats not good but thats their decision. Primal doesnt influence that. Primal is safe. Bikini contest? OMG, go to a beach. its not a big deal. Foam party? Have you ever gone to one? no you havent. therefore you cant judge it. primal is fine. quit your whining.

If you raise good kids then they'll know what to do, if you're afraid your kid will become a future slut, stripper, etc. that's on you as a parent. As a parent with kids approaching that age, I'm not going to shelter my kids from the outside world. My parents didn't and I turned out pretty well. Blaming a club for your child's behavior isn't the solution, the blame starts at home. Most kids I remember from my college days that were heavy drinkers or drug users were kids from families that were too repressive.

It is BS.....If you walk through the parking lot as I did, you will see empty beer bottles lined up next to cars. And then you will see a cop car parked outside the club "empty" stadged to appear they have police keeping an eye on things outside. But in reality they are inside checking out the "kids" that are role playing as though they are adults at a club or on MTV. Anyway....we are talking about a place that brags about having 400 kids a night. There was no more than 15 cars in the lot. That would mean that 300 or more kids would have had to be less than 16 years old. This kind of entertainment should not be offered to 14 and 15 years olds. Maybe business will drop like their previous business ....Pizza Z's and they will decide to LEAVE!!! What pisses off people is when they walked around Pizza E's and told everyone they were interested in provding a 'FAMILY" Atmosphers and then they closed and opened up a club like this...The city Manager and Major are disapointed because the business plan provided came nothing close to what they are doing. Was there background checks done on the owners? The owners that I spoke with on the phone were extreemly defensive when asked simple questions. What are they trying to hide???

Tenn USA on TV or even thought about how many kids from the schools in south lyon just got on plans to go to Cancun hello what happens there hummmmmm I wonder

everything people are saying about primal is false. There isn't just one owner, everyone needs to get their facts straight before they start talking smack. the owners are very nice and respectable people and they deserve a chance, so what? they made one bad decision with a bikini contest, but the city of south lyon is not even giving them a chance to improve, so i guess that means more house parties and MIP's in south lyon, because parents are blind. Primal is just like any homecoming or winterfest that you will send your child to. when they are freshman they are 14-15 and seniors are 17-18. does that mean they should not go to the same school? think about what your saying.

I think that you are getting worked up over nothing. At Primal we can be sure that our kids are not drinking alchol or doing drugs. Yes their style of dancing is not to my taste, but its better to let ur kids go to a place that we can be sure that nothing illegal going on.

You guys are all idiots who want to shut down Primal. You need to get a life and stop stepping on other people’s lives. Woop-de-do a foam party, I'm not sure if you know some of the other things kids do when there at there friends house or your house when your gone but I promise that it gets much worse! And a jello shot is doing nothing more than teaching kids that there is an alternative to alcohol, and plus why do you guys care about that? You’re that untrustworthy of your kids that you think just because they had jello that there going to become alcoholics? Also the whole idea of the bikini contest was to give kids SPRING BREAK like a substitute of going to the beach. I hope to god you don't let your kids go to the beach because then you would be a horrible parent!! This club is a great way to KEEP kids out of trouble so back off and mind your own business. Make sure your kids don’t but mine still will!! By the way the cops are inside!!

14 year old entertainment, is it the same as 19 year old entertainment? Dads think back to when you were 14 and when you were 19. Do you remember the differance? Or do you think there is no differance? My 15 year old daughter has attended Primal a couple of times. The club seems to be different than first advertised. My daughter will not be attending any future activities at this club.

wow, what else will you shield your kids from? let your kids grow up. would you rather have them there or out and about getting drunk and doing drugs? believe me thats what theyd be doing, it is possible for drugs and slcohol to enter your "small town" i know because im from one smaller than South Lyon, MI. be happy that there is some place where kids can act like immature adults without consequense... as for your worries about 18-219 year olds, they wont be there, they'll be at Clutch Cargos or Tonic with the adults, not at some tiny ass kid club.

It's ridiculous how protective parents are over their kids. People will find any reason to knit-pick something. Most of the people attending the club are 14-16 year olds. I agree with Josef, i don't know any 18 or 19 year olds that would want to go to a little kid club when they can attend a real one.
