I am a proud citizen of the United States of America for all its supposed faults and shortcomings in history. Having lived all of my 66 years in this country, served in the US Army (via the draft), resided in New York, Arizona, Wyoming, Alaska, Illinois and Wisconsin I have a fair idea what this county and most of its people are about.
I am proud of our history, as difficult and sometimes unfair it has been, it has been much less bloody and imposing than most other nations of the world.
Recently I have seen news stories where some closed community, trailer park, bank, apartment complex has forbidden the open display of the American flag since it may offend someone. Excuse me, this is the United States of America and that flag is the symbol of our country. If it offends you, I am sorry.
And if you travel to any other country and are offended by their national flag please feel free to tell them that they, and their citizens, cannot display that flag because it hurts your feelings. I am sure they will comply.
For all of my life I have refused to apologize for four things, and expect no other person to apologize for: my age, my sex, my race or country of origin. I had absolutely no choice in any of those traits, and neither does anyone else. You got a problem with your history, talk to your parents, don't complain to me.
