Once again the Florida REPUBLICANS show their scorn for people in favor of supporting BIG BUSINESS. While the republican legislature saw fit to cut support to schools and children's health care citing lack of revenue they could findover $9,000,000 to support businesses in central Florida. The legislature turns is back on the needy, marginalized and oppressed to make the rich richer. Congratulations to the REPUBLICAN legislature and Governor for keeping their priorities squarely in the back pocket of BIG BUSINESS.

If it's federally-mandated, it should be federally funded. Simple as that. This should be illegal.
This is simply Congress trying to spread around the financial pain of the war.

This appropriation should be on a long list of Vetos by the Governor. Too many local "turkey" items are in the Appropriations Act, when basic needs for the care of the people with disabilities and children in need were sacrificed to fund individual legislator's turkey appropriations. The Governor needs to send a message to the 2009 new legislature that we will fund the needs of people with disabilities and children and then divide up the money, if any. Hurricane season follows the end of the Legislature, and we are again "ripe" for some expensive hurricanes is a cash strapped state. Denny R. Wood dignity4@netscape.com
