Now all 12 million illegal immigrants are legal. There is no way this government is going to get 12 million people to go back home. This is a problem that should have been attacked 20 years ago.

I meant to say 11 million illegal immigrants, but, who knows, maybe another million have slipped across the border to march in the rallies.

Dry up the employement and they'll have no reason to stay. You have a defeatist attitude up there at Berkeley. |
||||
I've seen it written 11-12 million. Doesn't really matter. 1 is too many. I just don't see how the politicians can give amnesty or citizenship illegally. If they did, they too, would be breaking the law and wouldn't that be obstruction the law of which they could be charged with. I know that may be reaching far but, "why not?" I think the people that are assisting the illegals need to be charged with harboring illegals. Don't we have laws on that as well? |

All I keep hearing is they take jobs that Americans don't want anyways. Well I'm here to say that I wanted my job and my family wanted our home, but 4 years later, we have neither one. My two brothers and myself had to close a family owned and operated business that has been in our family since 1923, thanks to mexicans taking jobs that only we wanted. So no matter what anyone says, there are Americans that want to keep their jobs, and homes, and lively hoods. Go back home is all I can say!!! give us a chance to make a living is all I can say to that SON OF BUSH and everyother S O B that says they only take jobs that Americans don't want, yeah they take homes, careers and and self pride that we do want also...

It is time for americans to have us a rally and march to stand up for our own damn rights. What about us??? Is it racist for us true Americans to march for our own freedom, our right to support our families? Let this fourm be the the place where Americans can speak our minds and stand up for what it is that keeps us going. This country is going to see that the great middle class is a thing of the past. Due to people being here that don't belong, and outsourcing of our jobs. Good luck American people on holding on to your job, nafta, non-leagl immigrants and outsourcing will soon have your non-service job also...
|
||||
Tell me when and where you plan to hold a march. I'll be there carrying an American flag and a sign that says,"NO YOU CAN'T". Big business, our politicians, and now many religious organizations are backing them, but illegals can't vote. We all need to let our government know that Americans do not want people who were able to sneak into this country on their watch, should not be rewarded for being able to get away with it. It is a slap in the face to the people who took all the steps to become legal now and in the past. |

I too would march along side my american brothers and sisters. I too lost it all due to outsourcing. I too worked two jobs to barely make ends meet, but it still was not enough. I was told yesterday that a business owner asked his neighbor if he would say anything if he hired illegal aliens to work for him. He only wants one that can speak english so he can instruct the others. I told him, if you hire ANY illegal immigrants, I will call everyone I know. I'm sure he will do it anyway and when I find out I will end in fact call on him. What will be done, that's a different story. This guy wants cheap labor, someone who won't report hazardous job conditions because he/she is not suppose to be here in the first place. This makes me sick!
So, Let's start a rally, let's start our protest. It should have started back in 1991!!!!! We are way behind. |

They don't take the jobs that Americans don't want, they take the jobs that American welfare recipients should be taking. Everyone has nicely overlooked the fact that if US government didn't pay the welfare sloths so well they would be doing the jobs that these immigrants are doing. |
||||
I don't think anyone is over looking that fact and it is a fact, but when you clean house, you have to do it one room at a time. Not all unemployed Americans are on welfare. I was out of work for 7 months a few years ago and I drew unemployment which did not cover the bills, but I was out pounding the pavement every day looking for work. I have several collage degrees and was told I was over qualified for many jobs. I am an older American and it is cheaper for companies to hire illegals and not pay for the education or the experience. I took a factory job and worked 5 more years until I retired. Illegals being hired at lower wages are not helping anyone but themselves. If an American wants to support his family, he will work. |
||||
if u would like all illegals to leave then u should go out and do the jobs that they do for less than minimum wage but until u do shut ur mouth and support the journey towards the "american dreams" |

"I've seen it written 11-12 million. Doesn't really matter. 1 is too many. I just don't see how the politicians can give amnesty or citizenship illegally."
the guy who wrote this should be, along with everyone else who is opposed to the reform, greatful for these illegals who drive down the cost for consumers in our nation and until they go and until they are willing to do those jobs that these people do for less than minimum wage they should shut their mouths |

The problem is not - the immigrants - it's the Federal Government (yes, that’s your Senator and Congress Person) they no longer represent you, they represent big business, mostly corporations that pay for their elections. It’s clear that illegal workers are a huge benefit to big business (agriculture, construction, meatpacking etc.) the federal government could very easily establish a rigorous guest worker program that accounts for every foreign worker as well as patrolling of the border with unmanned flying drones.
As long as we, the voters, do not demand a completer election finance reform that keeps any and all big business money out of the process - their will be no change - only “business as usual”. |
||||
My apologies for not being clear and I can understand why you would want to get your point across. However I did not say 'over qualified, out of work Americans' who have been displaced not only by their age but by out of country outsourcing, I said 'welfare sloths', and meant, the people who have been on welfare for 5 generations and have refined and tailored the system to their liking, sorry to confuse you. |
||||
Yes and no, I totally agree with your assessment but would add that the immigrants are now making themselves the problem. The only way you fix this government is by replacing the whole thig. |

What does it mean to be a citizen anymore? Is the price of citizenship only two thousand dollars? Does responsibility still come with the rights that are defined in our Constitution and protected by our Government? The reason I ask these questions is I am worried that many of our elected leaders at all levels are selling our country out to people who violate our nations laws by entering the United states illegally. If there are people who are willing to violate the laws of our nation to get in, then what laws will they obey once they are here?
I understand that legal immigration as proscribed by law is vital to our nation’s life blood. But, as a nation we have every right and responsibility to monitor and control immigration into our country through the legislative process. In recent years, our elected officials have passed and changed immigration laws and then abandoned or thwarted the enforcement of those laws. That is why we find ourselves in the mess we are in with upwards of twenty million illegal immigrants in our country. If passed, do you really think government will enforce the new laws championed by president Bush and Senator Kennedy? The current controversy regarding immigrants is one of “Legal Immigration” and “Illegal Immigration.” It is about the rule of law and maintaining the culture and institutions of our country. To word it bluntly, if you don’t think unlimited immigration is bad for a people, look what unlimited immigration of Europeans did to the North American Indians. The current immigration bill in the senate is one that gives amnesty to people who entered or remained in this country in violation of its laws. If it becomes law, then it will only encourage more of the same. When the federal Government enacts laws, they should vigorously enforced or amended to maintain a respect for the rule of law and the integrity of the nation. |

They are largely in favor of ligitimizing Illegal Alines and anoiting them to become Legal Aliens. Besides, many of these people are no "immigrants." Instead, they are migrants who have no love or loyalty to the U.S.

Big business is where campaign contributions and lobbyist come from. The votes of the American people get side tracked when they are competing with big business. Big business and small business likes to pay lower wages and not have educated workers who can turn them in for safety or discriminatory violations. Businesses should be fined for every illegal they hire and so should people who rent to illegals. Our Politicians need to be working for the American people, not a bunch of people who are in this country illegally.
|
||||
Perhaps we could drop the "Welfare sloths" on some of these country's that won't support their own people and solve two problems at one time. |
