Remember when we had the editor of the local paper write in an editorial back in September of 2012 ,several statements aimed at posters on TOPIX?: "I will never post on TOPIX : it represents everything that is misconstrued about life......";
"most jarring of all, the illiteracy...." "why do you want to advertise your ignorance?"

"TOPIX does not mesh with how I choose to live my life: as an honest , compassionate and decent person."
Crain says, " Don't degrade yourself and others by contributing to negativity in the world" .
"I've got news for you; you are not an investigative journalist..."
Those are very scathing remarks about TOPIX posters and they haven't been forgotten.

The statement that most attracts my attention now is his claim that he chooses to live his life as an honest, compassionate and decent person.

In the August 21, 2013 edition there was a letter to Editor about the theft of a man's pet by someone claiming to be with the humane society and directing our paid employee not to release the dog to his rightful owner.

Could it have possibly been mere coincidence that Crain published
what he titled , "Letter to the Editor" in response to the broken-hearted man's letter? There is no name associated with it. It could have been written by Crain. He published it at the top of the page in an attempt to give it more prominence than the dog owner's sad letter about the theft of his loved dog. He's Such a self-proclaimed compassionate, decent person.

That is the most boring piece of garbage ever printed. I find more news here in Topix. Of course all of this is not truthful, and I know that. But I have found many things that will never appear in that paper rag of a newspaper.

The owners of the Winn paper care not that you are bored, only that you contribute 75 cents per week to their purse.
They giggle as people die & tragedy strikes. They see that as a good week for paper sales. Save your money.

"You are not an investigative reporter" Crain admonishes Topix posters! He is contrasting us with him, so that means he claims to be a dandy investigative reporter.
In 2008 Heart of Louisiana Humane society obtained 501 (C)(3) non profit status. One year later, in 2009, the organizations did not file, in 2010, they did not file, in 2011 they did not file and after 3 years of non-compliance their status as a non-profit org. was revoked by the IRS. The organization was in compliance only one year, back in 2008-09. Of course you knew this, didn't you, MR. CRAIN, being the investigative reporter you are!!!!?
Yet you have been publishing statements year after year that hlhs is a non-profit organization.
Why not tell the truth, that there is no humane society in Winn Parish so people won't keep donating to a group of private citizens all the while thinking their contributions are tax deductible. Why not push for an investigation into the wrong doing by someone claiming to be from the humane society claiming a man's pet as their own dog. A valuable hunting dog , no less.
Let's see an article in your paper about that. That would be the decent thing to do, but wait you won't even publish his follow up letter.

Seberal people overheard his rant smd called to let tje Heart of Louisiana Humane Society know what he was doing. So it had nothing to do with Mr Crain had no involvement you crazy person

How can you prove who wrote the article? It has everything to do with Mr. Crain. Notice I said "article" because it was NOT a letter; it was not signed by anyone, yet the honest editor labeled it a letter.

It was clearly obvious the article was written to try to justify the illegal actions of the individual who stole the hunting dog. The editor has chosen his way to live his life.

Mr. Crain was showing his compassion, but for what? The evil side in trying to defend wrong doing through an organization that has no good standing in Louisiana, nor with the Federal government. In other words, it is not an organization.

Crain claims to be an investigative reporter and TOPIX posters are not, he emphatically said, so he must know the facts that there is no such organization in Louisiana that he tried so hard to protect.

Then the article quoted laws that has absolutely nothing to do with the individual that stole the hunting dog.

There are no laws on the books designed to protect that thief.

If he would only use his investigative reporting to really investigate he would know that those laws apply to legitimate animal shelters, not to sanction theft!

Oh, he further shows what himself to be by refusing to print a 2nd letter from the dog owner. That's his life and that's the way he has chosen to live it.

A TOPIX thread about Crain's editorial just about a year ago where he wrote some really scathing remarks about posters on TOPIX and lauding his virtuousness with his paper and his life and the many comments posted in response to his editorial is now missingfrom TOPIX. At least I can not find it on TOPIX.

Seems someone didn't like to face any response to his editorial.

Thankfully, TOPIX is free and we can write again.
News here is instant. Thanks to all who share news happenings. We don't ever see many of these news items in his paper and many are weeks old if he does finally put them in. He doesn't always print truth.. example still promoting a non-existing organization.

1. First there is no humane society in Winn Parish in good standing with the state of Louisiana and no humane society in Winn Parish that has 501 (C)(3) non profit status. I nother words, THERE IS NO HUMANE SOCIETY IN WINN PARISH!
2. What would be expected of a man who had had dog stolen? Would he be expected to say nothing?
3. What kind of people would try to protect thievery by urging them to write a false article , citing status they do not possess, citing laws that don't apply to the theft, and placing the article above the letter to the editor ?
4. As always, when a message can't be refuted, the messenger is attacked giving all a clear clue their is no rebuttal to the message. This is seen in your post when you called the messenger crazy.
5. Crain continues to try to shield a thief by refusing to print the rightful dog owner's second letter to the editor, choosing instead to stand by the article with false information.
6. Read his statement again from his editorial of 9/5/12. Crain says:
"I choose to live my life as an honest, compassionate and decent person." Does his actions match his words? He has made a choice.

Is there an investigation going on at the pound, yet? Is there questioning of the thievery that took. or is taking place there? It is a fairly large group of people in our town/parish she is claiming association with.

Do you think we will see a correction by the Editor for all the times he has printed articles that claimed the Heart Of Lousiana Humane Society was a 501(C)(3) corporation, when it fact it was not in one in 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, and through, August, 2013. Don't know about after August.

The SELF-PROCLAIMED "honest editor" didn't say the heart of Louisiana humane society was a 501 (C)(3) organization in the small article with the 6 column headline in big bold print that appeared this week in the paper of Sept. 11.
Neither did he tell the readers he had for the years, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, through August 2013 published for fact that the org. was a 501 (C)(3) when in fact it WAS NOT. Neither did he tell readers that group didn't have good standing with the sate for that same period either. Guess the investigative reporter didn't do much investigation and won't admit it.

Why not put the news in the paper that the so-called heart of louisiana humane society is not a 501 (c)(3) organization

Can we wonder the same about him and his paper when we read in the June 25 2014 the newspaper reporting of the Police Jury meeting?. It was comical to note by the paper 's high standard reporting that there is a new method of keeping track of "the way the road crews GRATE and bush hog ......", And we were informed that all our motor GRATERS are running...., and with weather permitting , "we'll be GRATING until we're through".
