He was seen a lot. He just didn't run to the Enterprise with everything he did. He spent more time quietly and efficiently running the office, on the tax money that was available, at substantially less pay than Bodie is drawing.
Plus he didn't have to worry about his own deputies serving him with more lawsuits and judgements for poor financial management and just flat beating people out of money.
no, no, no, you better check public records and look at all of those saleries like greg davies and dorman. you better look.

If a 1% tax is nothing how come winnfield is jammed today with shoppers trying to make good on the tax free weekend. Because tax's hurt our economy thats why. The sheriffs office is only a small pea in the pot against and entire parish why should an entire pot of peas be ruined because of one bad pea. If you want more tax you just pay it when you make a purchase and leave the rest of us alone. I don't care what their salaries are I just care about keeping my tax's from increasing enough is enough.

I actually thought I was wrong on this, that it would be impossible.
But further investigation revealed that I am correct. The Winn Parish Sheriff's Office has budgeted $25,000 (twenty-five thousand dollars - you read it correctly) for cell phones.
Yet more further investigation shows me that almost every employee up there has an expensive Blackberry. Not just road deputies or investigators.
Now, here is my question, after thinking this over. The previous sheriff had a telephone budget of $5,000 (five thousand dollars).
Why is it that we need this many cell phones at this cost when road deputies and investigators all have not only a fixed radio in their cars, but also portable radios? And I understand from talking to an employee that even some of the non-enforcement personnel have portable radios.
Of course the answer from the sheriff will be, "well, uh, un, we got those on a grant." Standared, patented good old boy Bodie's usual take on all things.
So, let's review..........no, nevermind, let's not review. Enough said. Wasteful, carefree, tax and spend attitude in our sheriff's office. No different that our government in Washington, D. C., let's tax these dumbbells out here and have a good time on their dollar.
Well, I for one am tired of it. I did not agree so much at the time with Buddy Jordan's laid back attitude though I never doubted his integrity. I simply thought he was not forceful enough.
But I know can see a striking difference. Mr. Jordan got the job done, as well if not better than what we're getting now, and did it with much less.
If the figures I saw were correct, and they came from the sheriff's office, our sheriff's current payroll is $17,000+ more a MONTH than Jordan's was, and he's only been in office 13 months.
If the people vote this tax on themselves, shame on them.
If they re-elect this monster, shame on them again.
Wonder if Bodie has cut back on this? Haven't seen anything about his doing it.

Both who had been there forever and had more experience than the new, highly paid crew. And their salaries weren't jacked up all at once and they did not start at those salaries. You need to check ALL the public records on the current sheriff.

Why would anyone want to cloud their opinion with FACTS? No one cared about facts before the election and look where it got us. Why care now. Bodie is running the sheriff's office just like he ran the assessors office and his personal business and people act shocked. Leopard and spots.

The sheriff just can't help himself. I bet the FBIs cell phone bill isn't that high. They could buy new top line radios for one month of cell phone use. No doubt many minutes are being used for personal use. If cell phones are really needed. then let the users show their bill at the end of the month and get reimbursed for all calls related to work. No office personel need SO paid cell phones. Nothing we can do but vote him out and try someone else..Hopefully an honest realistic person will run that don't want to turn this poor parish into a police state.

Winn paper Wednesday Nov.4, 2009 page 1, WPSO MAKES CUTS, SEEKS REVENUES the headline reads.
"We have cut everything we can cut in our budget",Bodie says.
In all probability, he made, while on his out-of-control spending spree the first few months in office, a long term contract for all the phones and is stuck with them now!!
So what does he threaten the citizens with now? He says, "We are trying to keep our drug deal up, but there is no way we can do that without employees. We( who is "we"?) have had to let too many go." ( Just what he means by "our drug deal" is anybody's guess.) Just shows , again, that he don't know how to manage the sheriff's office any better than he did the Assessor's office or his own business!!( has a suit against him for not paying for equipment he bought.) He has told us HE only added two more people than the previous sheriff had, so why did WE have to let so many more go? Simple answer: he spent on expensive phone systems, new expensive vehicles, too many drug dogs and the associated costs , new uniforms throughout, not just replace worn items, new furniture for his office, new paint and floor job, expensive trips, prayer breakfasts, ads in the paper( still appearing every week),allowing employees to use vehicles and our gasoline to make trips to carry family members to Ruston, fish fries for a certain group, accepted maximum salary allowed, paid inexperienced employees way more than he should and gave too large increases to some. He simply spent himself out of money and that very quickly. Now he is squirming and telling us now he has to cut back on the job the sheriff is elected to do-serve and protect the citizens. He said he is "looking" at the 911 system and wants someone to come to his aid!!! Just looking everywhere we can for revenue, he says. Says, he may have to put only one officer on at night!! Seems he is not thinking of the safety of his officer by having only one on duty. But he spent all the money for frills, frolic and fun and can't do the job he was elected to do so all the parish suffers.
He don't need any more tax money from us. Although he shall be getting more AdVAlorem tax in 2010, thanks to him for having the Tax Commission come to Winn , and the increased some assessments

After reading on another thread about the maximum salary Bodie can pay himself and seeing how much he is spending on cell phones..those two items alone are a great hunk of cash needed each month.
After the tax failed Bodie said everyone had taken a cut in pay, wonder how much he reduced his big salary?

Daily Horoscope for January 4

Aquarius

You will not be satisfied in your work place, but give it some time and things will fall into place. Those in the construction business should get some good news. Aquarian homebodies will find things rather hectic and may develop a headache by the end of the day, so you should avoid negative thinking as much as possible.
