Why couldn't he do this when they had open registration? Why does he want the kids to skip the most important day of school. Apparently, he hasn't thought about the transportation, the cost of gas to get the kids so far north. Or what happens when the kids are sick and someone needs to pick them up, or who is going to get the parents up there for parent teacher conference. Rev. Meeks should build a high school. That would help more so than this "protest".

Extensive after school programming and perhaps some additional ancillary classes? A majority of the textbooks are the same; curriculum should be the same because it is created state wide not city to city. Maybe our children are being “deprived” of a better education because of how they are being taught. Perhaps it’s a little harder to get a job at a school in one of our “better” suburbs because the standards for employment are higher. When you hire top-notch teachers your children are going to learn better, when you hire from the bottom of the barrel you find a Rev who is going to speak out about inequality and encourage parents to keep their kids home on the first day of school. If Arnie would just weed out the trash teachers within his walls he would find millions of dollars to reallocate.

We have learned from other officers' tragedies, in order to make sure that we stay safe. If you obey the commands of the officer, keep your hands on the wheel, and do not make sudden movements, then you will be fine, and if you are polite you MAY even get off with a warning. Grow up, and quit playing the race card. The "white man" is NOT out to get you. Just behave, and be a positive, hardworking example for the black community, while taking responsiblity for your actions and situations, instead of going on with racist rantings blaming Caucasians.

What, keep them on the streets full of gun violence? What an idiot. He is also planning a rally (WOW Im shocked yet another rally) and a federal lawsuit. Hey Rev. Meeks tell your community to start paying the proerpty taxes that we are and the schools will have better funding. What out Chicago residents I would not be surprised if you all get YET ANOTHER property tax increase to increase revenue. Dont bitch* and dont complain, it is for the kids after all. Youre getting what you asked for and this is how you achieve it. There is no other way. All of our suburban schools are mostly paid for by TAX DOLLARS. So if you want to be equal, pay what we do if not, dont complain

Keeping the kids out of schools is just wrong. There are other ways to fix the problem. It was said in a past post that encouraging children to "skip school" is illegal. If this is true, he needs to be arrested because he has said it very publicly and there is video proof of it.

The quality of Your schools shouldn't be Dependant on where you live. Its not about getting what you pay for, its about having a quality education for every child. If you beleive some children should get better education because they're richer, then you know what, continue to think that way. Though I would have to say you would have to be a very ignorant and selfish person to think that way.
