Ex-Assembly Speaker Núñez's son held in homicide

The 19-year-old son of former Assembly Speaker Fabian Núñez was arrested in Sacramento County along with three others Tuesday on suspicion of homicide in the Oct. 4 stabbing of a 22-year-old college student in San Diego.

Esteban Núñez, Ryan Jett, Leshanor Thomas and Rafael Garcia, all 19, were taken into custody with the assistance of Elk Grove Police Department officers and Sacramento County sheriff's deputies, according to a San Diego Police Department press release.

Núñez was arrested about 2 p.m. at his father's home in the 3300 block of American River Drive, said Sgt. R.L. Davis, Sacramento County sheriff's spokesman.

All four men will be taken to San Diego, where each will face one count of murder and three counts of assault with a deadly weapon, the release said.

Steve Maviglio, Fabian Núñez's spokesman, said the former speaker would have no comment.

The stabbing occurred after the four men allegedly got into a fight as the victim and four friends left a party, the release said. Luis Santos and two friends were stabbed, it said.

The San Diego Union-Tribune reported that San Diego police detectives searched the Sacramento-area homes of all four about a week after Santos' death.

Remind everyone at the party of protection under "special order 40" and feel free to help convict these bad murders like good visiting laborers. I have never heard of "special order 40" ever helping in an investigation, this could be a first.

If you go down to Twin Towers,Men's Central,Wayside or pretty much ANY Courthouse in Southern California why do I always see at least 70% latinos?If the whites make up such of a large jail and prison population, where are they putting them anytime I've been down there?
