Kati was my granddaughter and my son and I were only about a month away from being granted by the courts to see her. I have been chasing Kristi for the last 4 1/2 years trying to see my baby Kati. If Kati was such a burden to her, why she didn't give her to someone in her family or even to us, I will never understand. I only got to spend time with Kati from the time she was born until she was 4 months old and once in Nov. 08. I didn't get to see her on a day to day basis and now the only time I get to share things with her is at her grave. How dare Kristi take that away from me and my son....I hope they lock her and her boyfriend up and throw away the key.

Are you joking? Courts around here are known for sending people off for a LONG time for even minor offenses. Just last year a guy got Life in prison for stealing a tank of anhydrous ammonia!

What cases are you talking about?

VERNON (Special)— Three people have been charged with intoxication manslaughter in connection with the death of 24-year-old Jordan Eli Ramirez.
Ramirez died following a hit-and-run accident early Saturday.
Those arrested and charged are Jesus Elias Cardenas, 31; Norma Linda Cardenas, 36; and David Eugene Hamilton, 29. All three remain in Wilbarger County Jail with bonds set by Wilbarger County Justice of the Peace Lewis Templeton at $125,000 each.
Ramirez was struck by a vehicle near the intersection of Lexington and Gordon streets at about 3:35 a.m. The vehicle left the scene, but was recovered near the intersection of Eagle and Canal streets a short time later.
Police officers and emergency personnel found the victim in the middle of the road with massive body injuries. Ramirez was taken to Wilbarger General Hospital in Vernon in an unconscious and unresponsive state. Templeton pronounced the victim dead about 5 a.m.
"And the bother and sister are out shopping and driving!! wow!

What are you talking about? All of those people are still in jail. None of them are "out shopping and driving."

And how can you charge three people with murder by driving over someone when only ONE PERSON can drive a car at a time? Can you explain that?

I know about that case because I know some of the Cardenas family. Do I think those Cardenas kids did something wrong? Yes.

But how can all three people in a car be charged with murder when only one can be driving?

They are all in jail and apparently the bail has been raised because they were charged with intoxication manslaughter but the DA indicted them for murder. How is that fair?

$250,000 is too low of a bond. This bond should be at least a million or she should be "no-bonded." Capital murder is the only crime where you can be no-bonded in Texas. Should she make bond, it's likely she'll take off. May God bless this child.

Trial by jury. If found guilty then a trip to Huntsville. She should be given the drug of her choice. Plenty of it and then her remains should be incenrated.

It isn't the courts that set the bond, it is a justice of the peace that isn't even a lawyer!

This woman that killed her child should get a long time in prison. That is so sad. What is wrong with people today?
I also know of some people that were involved in the death of Eli. I hope they all get punished. He was a very nice boy. Whoever was driving should get the most punishment but the others should still get something.

You know what I was dating David when this incident occured he was not nor is a bad person, yes they made a huge mistake. This is something all 3 of them have to live with for the rest of their lives, isn't that punishment itself? Nothing they do or say, no amount of wishes they make can ever bring Eli back, and im sorry for that, I do agree some sort of punishment is needed, but how fair to charge all 3? I know the morning of this, may 31 at 3:25 David was in our bedroom at his house talking with me, he was going to walk to the store to get cigs, this occured at @3:35 so that tells me he got in the car not knoqwing exactly what was going on. But you can bet your butt the brother and sister was fully aware of what was going on. Now David and I are sufering the most, please tell me how that is fair?

Are you crazy? This man, David Hamilton, has admitted that he ran over Eli. How is that fair? Eli is dead forever. In the meantime, your boyfriend, who has been to prison several times, is still living and breathing. That is not fair.

Maybe, the full details of the investigation have not been released to the public. Maybe, the DA and the Police have more knowledge than you about rules of evidence, interviewing involved parties and witnesses, piecing together crime scenes, etc.
I am not a Vernon cop but I do know a little more than you about this case. How is is it fair that David Hamilton(a convicted felon that has been to prison) and the Cardenas "kids" can take a life and not be charged with Murder? What if one your son, daughter, or other family members where murdered? Would you then post comments proclaiming the innocence of any suspects without knowing all the details of the case?
