Vernon certainly has its problems, but most towns its size do as well. For the most part, Vernon is a good place to live.

I would like to know what scandals have been happening here!

are you not familiar with the savings and loan scandal, the insurance scandal and the oil scandal... i have only live her a couple of years and I know all about those... and there are more!

Scandal..... A woman being murdered is not a scandal. It is a horrible crime. The person that did this or people involved should all be caught and punished. This young woman had a family, and I'm sure she is missed very much. Small towns will all have rumors, just try not to believe all you hear. Pray for her family.

For those who are wondering Toby had a hearing today to have his bond reduced to $50,000. It was denied. Thank God.

I think All the families involved need to be prayed for... Toby has 3 small daughters who are going to have to grow up dealing with what their father did and what People are going to say about that to THEM for the rest of their lives also..

My prayers go out to Toby and his family and I pray every night that God have mercy on Toby's soul. His daughters are young and will have to live seeing their dad behind bars for the rest of his life. Well at least they still get to see their dad even if its behind bars. I tell you what I would rather see Rosemary behind bars every day than to have to see her grave everyday. My prayers go out to both families.

Well I am a cousin of the man being accused of this horrific crime.. I will have to say that I could not believe my eyes when I saw the picture of him and read the story.. My heart goes out to the family of the family of both Rosa and Toby.. I cant get ahold of anyone to find out what is going on and why something like this happened... My prayers are with everyone involved in this tragedy and I hope that someday you all can start the feeling process.. God Bless

I am also a family member of the person accused and I was just wondering where you are from? I live right here in vernon and this whole thing has been horrible. My heart goes out to the family of the victim, I did not know her but I think of her and her family everyday. You are in my prayers.

i live in north texas.. there are so many things that i understand that are going on and my cousin is NOT the only one involved and he is protecting his wife and girls by not telling the truth and I just hope that someday the truth comes out.. I just cant believe this is happening and he is taking the blame for this.. he is a victim too and because he has to leep his family safe the real murder is getting off scot free.. that is the real tragidy.. I hope that everyone involved can live with the fact that this is not justice and because of drugs this is changing the lives of everyone involved.. Toby will not die because he will not get the death penalty. He was indicted with first degree murder the maximum punishment for that is life in prison without parole. He had the opertunity to tell the police if any one else was involved HE chose not to so that is on him. He could have gone under the witness protective program and so could his wife and kids. If you know someone else was involved then why dont you be the good samariatian and speak up. At least he still has his life, all I have is a picture of my sister.

when you have someone that has already killed and tells you that if you say anything that they will kill your family.. You do what it takes to protect your family.. the facts arent out there because the family is scared.. i am sorry that the family of the lady has lost her.. but all the bad things that people are saying about toby isnt fair because HE didnt do it.. He is just trying to protect his family.. as far as PROTECTIVE custody... That isnt any better than being out and about... My cousin is only guilty of being in the wrong place at the wrong time.. He is guilty of doing drugs,, But he is not the only one that was doing drugs.. It WAS a drug deal gone bad.. But the one that committed the crime IS NOT Toby.. If I knew who the person was I WOULD TELL.. But he wont even tell his family who it is.. So that there is NO chance for the idiot to come after his family... If the only evidence they have on toby is his testimony.. Then you would think that they would put more effort in actually doing their job and INVESTIGATE.. but that would be too hard.. there will be no REAL investigation.. So the REAL murder will get off to do it again and again.. So for the residents of vernon.. Just because Toby Armstrong is in jail dont get a false feeling of safety.. Because you have a murder running the streets of your town

I dont know where you got your information from and Tobys testimony is not the ONLY evidence the investigators got. His fingerprints were all over the murder weapon and only his. He failed the polygraf test oh wait he was at the wrong place at the wrong time when he failed that too I suppose.

the city of Vernon may be slow but they are not idiots.i strongly believe this."if you don't open your mouth to your own defense than they take your word and boom..... you say you did it....... than you get charged.......the protective offer will work in some degree,the truth will come out and he is not innocent.being there is just as bad.to what rumors have it aint over yet so go with that and my heart does go out to all the kids that have to be without there parent.but come on think about it.we all will tell our family "i did not do it" "it wasnt me." but only God knows.........

You are an idiot. This man has confessed to doing it and you think authorities need to go out looking for someone else? That is absurd. And you say that law enforcement needs to keep investigating and find out who really did this? Well, how can they do that if Toby won't tell?

Let me ask that again, because it is so simple: How can they investigate any further, if the supposedly innocent person, won't tell them what happened? DUH! They can't.

He isn't telling them anything, because there isn't anything for him to say. He did it and will go to prison for it. As he should!

Well, obviously, so far as the families are concerned, it is a matter of "We said, they said." I would really like to know what the law is doing. Obviously, a woman is dead. It looks like everyone is just squabbling over details.

Where does the case presently stand? Does anyone know?

(No, I do not live in Vernon, but the idea that a woman dies and no one is held responsible for it just sort of gets my back up.)
