I think it's totally ridiculous. Why can't they just limit the service to at least once a week? That's the only reason why I would use the airport, to go to Europe while avioding JFK. I guess the airport won't be expanding as I expected and is completely useless. What about the new international arrivals terminal they jsut built? What use is it now? Now I heard they're also halting flights to Los Angeles and Denver. The most important cities it services, they have to cut.

Does not seem like a very well-thought move. There are many business travelers in the area that would certainly prefer the direct flight to driving to NYC airports. Why not limit the no of flights and raise prices?

The BDL-AMS flight was booked to an average capacity of 62% in the 14 months the flight was serviced. Northwest Airlines has losses of profit in 56% of those flights. Overall, BDL did not have the capacity of passengers needed to allow the flight to make money…(166 seats are used on the 757A).
Newark to Amsterdam was also cancelled, however, we have began Washington-Dulles, and New York-Kennedy to Amsterdam services.
