No it's not. Sex is for the combined purposes of reproduction, pleasure, assertion of dominance, and a few other reasons that kind of fall in the same category as pleasure.

Just thinking out loud. Could use the old "God works in mysterious ways" line. What is the purpose of Down's syndrome. It's genetic. Many things have a genetic base with no real explanation.

I feel this way... If you have homosexual tendencies, that's one thing, but giving into that is the downfall. Just like an unmarried couple committing fornication. You can choose to give into the flesh or have self control. I have seen attractive females before and wondered what it would be like to do that, but I never would.

I know exactly what you mean, I'm married and have children, if I see an attractive woman I think oh she's attractive, I wonder what it would be like to be with another woman, but I have never been with another woman and never will be. I think it's only natural to wonder and have those thoughts from time to time, but that's as far as ur goes, but I just think that's the natural nature of our sexual being.

I'm sure gay people fight temptation to be with other partners, too, but what you're suggesting they do is be limited to no sex - not just varied sex. They really don't want to be with the opposite gender any more than you want to be with the same gender. It's their own gender or no sex at all. That would make for a long life of "not giving in" and a lot of frustrated people!

Just wondering, but if people were born gay, and being gay is a natural part of life and if its ok, then wouldnt we have gay animals? Like wouldnt we have gay monkeys and gay dogs and cats? We dont so I think even the animals no better, god created all things he created most mamals like humans, we eat, breath, drink, sleep and reproduce, so if being gay was an option or a gene or just a way of life, wouldnt some animals be gay too? If it didnt matter what sex we were with, why didnt god just make us all asexual, to where we would all be the same and be able to have sex with each other and gender would not be a problem? He didnt he made man and woman, he mad man and woman different for a reason, men and womens bodies mesh together like they are suppose to. If you have a naked man and woman laying on top of each other, the parts match up, if you have a naked man laying on top of a naked man, or a naked woman laying on top of a naked woman, the parts just dont line up, i think the reason for that is because they arent suppose to go there, they fit because its not proper, i know im wierd but I just wonder sometimes,.

You're not weird, just inquisitive and that's a wonderful trait. I've witnessed homosexual behavior in my animals, but not sex (well, my female dog will hump any gender or species). There are species that do, like the dwarf chimp; they're all bisexual and oral sex is common with same genders. Apparently there are others, just google it and read. It's been my observation of christians that they don't believe god makes any mistakes and has a hand in creating every individual, leading me to believe they'd accept anything he created. Perhaps tolerance and acceptance will have to suffice until they realize his reason for creating these people?

there are plenty of animals that exhibit homosexual behavior. Dogs, horses, chimps, and dolphins just to name a few. Weird thing is most animals do no have sex for anything other than reproduction, so not sure why they would engage with a member of the same sex.

God does not make mistakes. Everyone has a cross to bear in their life. It's the challenges that make us grow into better people. The Bible says it is wrong, it does not say to persecute those who cannot resist. Infact it teaches the opposite. If same sex attraction is not your challenge then don't worry about it. Maybe it is a test of your faith to be tolerant of others. Ever think of that? In the end, you haters will have to answer for your actions.

Boho, what is your view on civil union for gays, allowing for legal rights as partners? I very much like what you've posted here; it renews my faith in the practice of christianity and people in general.

I am for it, it threatens me none what so ever. Who knows maybe they can teach us straights a few things. we are are doing so well with marriage. None of us knows Gods plan. That is why faith is required.

So true, we've made a wreck out of our unions. I suspect theirs will - and I say "will", because there's no doubt that it will be legal someday - be as subject to the same failures as heterosexuals, but you're right, it's no threat to me at all.
I've had to witness the heartbreaking situation of a gay patient whose partner of many years is unable to have any input into their medical care or even visit because the family didn't agree with their relationship. It's helpless and infuriating to watch, you just want to shake the family and tell them this is who they choose - they love each other! I have to admit I've broken a few visitation rules in these situations with no regret at all. I don't tolerate ignorance and cruelty well.

well the real problem is that the americans people do not believe in the one true god tha made us and to do his will by being men and women ment for each other homos are a branch of animals that does not need to be in this world as created by god ..simply put the world ois soon becoming a place of 2 people the first love and do the best 6they can to please god almighty the second are for whatever you want do it that will lead to chaos

I'm by no means for same sex marriage- but this whole chic fil a thing is ridiculous...I mean it's ok and it's great and all to support them but if the CEO of Walmart said he was for same sex marriage would everyone against it stop shopping at Walmart? I think not! Just sayin

Anon didn't say anything about modeling accepted behavior. All he was doing was responding to the other persons comment about homosexuality not being exhibited in animals. Also, comparing a consenting relationship between adults to cannibalism and the murder of children is a huge leap lol.

actually there are/where canibal tribes in the world, plus the killing of babies. Ever hear of abortion?
