He was a good guy and a good friend.. He was a proud person who showed everybody respect. And I know he was devastated by his actions that one day. It was not worth the price that he paid.Everybody liked David and he liked everybody else. It is a great loss to this town!! He will be missed!!

I didn't know him personally, but it is tragic that he felt that suicide was his only option. I think the people of Winchester are more forgiving than that. I think this is a partly a product of the new editors of the Winchester Sun and their desire to sensationalize every story. Another example is the man who was charged with animal abuse when his horses were found starved. He died a few weeks later and the headline was, "Man Accused of Animal Cruelty Dies." That is a terrible way for a man to be eulogized, regardless of what he did, or didn't do. I expect it will be the same with David Jacobs. Thie Sun has turned into something that, I think, is NOT representative of our community.

Winchester has the most ignorant people I have ever encountered. It is unbelievable what lowlifes they are.He should have moved out of Winchester, life would have been much better.

I think Joe,KY Girl and Snoopdog are the beginning of the answer. We all need tolerance and understanding. This gentleman deserved nothing less. We as a community need to be more accepting and open to others rather than the closed group of opinionated people we tend to be. It starts with people like you to breakdown the walls.

Well deliver me...why isnt everyone showing the same understanding for the Mama2s and Daddy Daycare issue? I agree. The situation with the Coronner was terrrible...but lets not forget what prompted all of that.( For those of you who dont know...I will not elaborate.) However, for those who do, I hope the same discrection is show for everyone involved in that scandal...at least until the truth is revealed.

No offense, but I don't think you can possibly compare David's situation with a possible case of child molestation. I will reserve judgement on the daycare until there is some sort of proof arising from the investigation. But if abuse occurred, the molestor does not deserve any tolerance from the community. He/she deserves prison!

I'm glad you feel qualified to judge the lesser of the two evils. Maybe it was a poor analogy on my part. As a result, I dont think we should stir this subject up. Mr. Jacobs and his memory should be left to rest in peace. His actions on this Earth have already been judged by our Lord in Heaven.
As far as the daycare scandal, I think we should do the same. The police will reveal the truth. God have Mercy on anyone who speaks false words on this subject.

If you notice, I said that I was RESERVING (that means delaying or putting off) judgement until the investigation revealed proof. However, I feel that it is pretty insulting to equate homosexuality with the sexual abuse of a child. You are the one who brought up the daycare scandal in this thread, not me.
