Is there a concensus for the top restaurant to take my wife for our anniversary dinner? Is there a nice choice available in Winchester or do we need to go to Lexington?

I would like to be able to order a nice bottle of wine with our meal.

It will have to be Lexington then as far as I know. I would recommend Malone's. Of course I may not be the one to ask since my husband thinks Wendy's is a romantic meal. LOL

I can't help you out in the Winchester Area. But there are several options in Lexington. Note, there are several great chain restaurants in Lexington that I'm going to ignore here. This is for some of the more unique, and in some cases upscale, options.
Malones/Sals are wonderful dining options (There is a Malones in Hamburg, and both a Malones and Sal's on Tates Creek).- http://www.malonesrestaurant.com/ Jonathan's at Gratz Park (On 2nd Street) is probably some of the highest quality food you can get in Lexington, but expect to pay top dollar for it - http://www.jagp.info/ Metropol (Short Street) is another wonderful option, but once again, top dollar.- http://www.metropolfinedining.com/ Bellini's on Main is great if you're in the mood for Italian, as is Portofino.- http://www.bellinis.us/ - http://www.portofinolexington.com/ Natasha's Bistro is great, especially if you're in the mood for an eccletic atmosphere.- http://www.beetnik.com/ Other Options: Dudley's - http://www.dudleysrestaurant.com/ Rossi's - http://www.rossis-restaurant.com/ |

Thanks to: The Voice. That is exactly what I was looking for; I appreciate your effort. I think I can live without the WalMart Snack Bar.

Jazzman's was a big dissapointment. WTF is up with the menu? That few of things and that many waitresses service should be fantastic. Service instead was below average, food was mediocre except for the bbq sauce which was fantastic.
It was beautiful inside. I will be back in town around thanksgiving and going to give it one more chance. |

I don't know if you'll get another chance. Jazzman's is closed right now. The sign outside says they're "Closed for additional training". I read in the Winchester Sun that they will be opening back up without "Jazzman". Does anyone else have any info on this, what happened that they had to fire the chef? I didn't even get a chance to eat there.
